I got through to my sister Dana tonight. Found out she does have stage 4 breast cancer. They said there just was no way to detect it early in her.. her mammogram from 3 weeks ago is clear and she has no lumps - but it is in her lymph nodes and bones.... her ribs, spine and there's a lesion on her skull. They are treating her with osteoporosis meds instead of chemo. It is relatively new treatment, but already statistically better than chemo. If it doesn't work to get her in remission, then they'll try chemo. They can still radiate spots on her bones if they don't heal, too. It is incurable, but remission can last from 3 - 20 yrs. Both of our grandmothers had breast cancer.

Thanks, all.
Mostly I just joked around with her on the phone after we got the update out of the way. We have always joked around and laughed a lot, and we'll keep that up. But her voice was kinda weak - I think she has another sore rib.

I did that with my sister when the news came in about her tumor .. thankfully everything turned out ok for her
But I'll never forget the night before her surgery, I was a mess and I prayed all night like you couldn't believe
I'm sending lots of prayers for your sister and {{Hugs}} to you.
Always remember we're here if you need anything
