Great news on Gavin's assignment - he should have a fantastic time in Europe...there is so much to see and do over there.
How's the Austin movie star/wannabe's scene?
Cheers.

My section chief inmy old artillery unit was a tanker in Germany before he went National Guard.
He said he loved the place, but that was back in the late 80's early 90's.
Though I still hear that it's a nice place to serve.
*shrugs*
Never been there myself, so I wouldn't know admittedly.
But that's the buzz that I heard, for what it's worth.

They gave Gavin the "terrorist special" search at the airport last night. sheeeeesh... I guess his dogtags triggered the metal detector alarm.
To: lodwick
Not sure about the scene yet... your friend called last night while was gone to the airport, so I'll return the call today.

Gavin has heard good things about Germany, too. He is upset that he just missed Oktoberfest. *L*

Oh I dread flying in a couple of weeks.. We will get the once over for sure.. as we bought one way tickets. It might have been worth our while to buy return trip just to get out of that hastle. Of course if we canceled them we would just get the same hastle coming back. It's not fun feeling like a terrorist.

We've lost some big trees around the area.. The side road out here is blocked off while they chop a biggy up..
To: grannie9
Wow... that's some weather! The breeze yesterday almost messed up my hair, but I survived.
To: ValerieUSA
Missed Oktoberfest?!
My chief said that was the 'best thing' there was!
Yeah, I can see how he'd be upset about it.

(Resistance is futile, but we may be placated with choclates and shiny trinkets to add to our hord.)

Ahh... I like that one.. ;) Pretty, pretty, pretty....
Yes.. I'm putting suspenders on my knickers today...

Looks like the FReepathon will be wrapped up today -- yee haw!

Our flight last week to Iowa was horrible...my brother and I were singled out as persons of interest because we had our hands in our jacket pockets and got the full wand-job.
Homeland Security is a sad, sick, joke - on us.
To: lodwick
Al is always a person of interest, but I've only been wand'd once.. We will both catch it this time.
Hey, I can take my finger-nail clippers now tho..lol..
To: grannie9; yall
To: everyone

LOL.. Did you hear that Boston has the first full x-ray of baggage now? I suppose that means that I can't sneak any odd things in my checked luggage either?
Moan... they leave a woman very little lee-way today.. ;)
Just when you think you've gotten past the postman, the luggage handlers will catch you.. lol lol lol...
To: lodwick
Oh great... I have to go out and fix up some beef tostados and some chicken quesa deas... (you'd think I'd know how to spell it?)
To: grannie9
How much more will we stand by and take?
I was so angry, I'm sure that my blood pressure was off the chart.
To be treated like some sort of criminal by an otherwise un-employable, Enlish is not my first language, I may not even be a citizen of this country, jackass is just too much.
To: grannie9
quesadillas ... yummmmmmm
To: ValerieUSA
Thankyouverymuch... I knew that of course, but my senile mind just wouldn't let it thru.. ;)
