Heck, I've had threads pulled just because I posted it.
'Course, that was back in the day when Asmodeus and I went 'round and 'round.
I know he's back on FR since he got himself banned, but I haven't found him yet. And I count it as a blessing, or a miracle.

The thread that got pulled dealt with smoking.
And the anti-smoking police nailing people for their IN HOME cig smoke crossing their property line and being nasally audible to the neighbors.
I suggested that the same flawgic they were using against the smoker's could easily be adapted for use against gunowners.
I got flamed like mad for it, statements like "gunowners would never be irresponsible enough to **insert stupid statement here**" and such.
No-one bothered looking at the basic premise, that people were being fined just basically for having cigarettes.
Next step would be to fine people for owning guns.

That thread got yanked, and it was quite legit.
Prolly got yanked 'cause Asmodeus wandered in and said stupid crap in thread..

Now. just in case you weren't feeling too old today, the following will certainly change things. Each year the staff at Beloit College in Wisconsin puts together a list to try to give the faculty a sense of the mindset of this year's incoming freshmen. Here's this year's list:

The people who are starting college this fall across the nation were born in 1983.

They are too young to remember the space shuttle blowing up.

Their lifetime has always included AIDS.

Bottle caps have always been screw off and plastic.

The CD was introduced the year they were born.

They have always had an answering machine.

They have always had cable.

They cannot fathom not having a remote control.

Jay Leno has always been on the Tonight Show.

Popcorn has always been cooked in the microwave.

They never took a swim and thought about Jaws.

They can't imagine what hard contact lenses are.

They don't know who Mork was or where he was from.

They never heard: "Where's the Beef?", "I'd walk a mile for a Camel", or "de plane Boss, de plane".

They do not care who shot J. R. and have no idea who J. R. even is.

McDonald's never came in Styrofoam containers.

They don't have a clue how to use a typewriter.

From email friend:

1. Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my
own pants.

2. Marriage changes passion. Suddenly you're in bed with a relative.

3. I saw a woman wearing a sweat shirt with "Guess" on it. So I said
Implants?" She hit me.

4. I don't do drugs. I get the same effect just standing up fast.

5. Sign in a Chinese Pet Store: "Buy one dog, get one flea..."

6. I live in my own little world. But it's OK. They know me here.

7. I got a sweater for Christmas. I really wanted a screamer or a moaner.

8. If flying is so safe, why do they call the airport the terminal?

9. I don't approve of political jokes. I've seen too many of them get
elected.

11. I love being married. It's so great to find that one special
person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.

12. I am a nobody, and nobody is perfect; therefore, I am perfect.

13. Everyday I beat my own previous record for number of consecutive
days I have stayed alive.

14. How come we choose from just two people to run for president and
50 for Miss America?

15. Isn't having a smoking section in a restaurant like having a
peeing section in a swimming pool?

16. Why is it that most nudists are people you don't want to see naked?

17. Snowmen fall from Heaven unassembled.

18. Every time I walk into a singles bar I can hear Mom's wise words:

"Don't pick that up, you don't know where it's been!"

In a story reminiscent of the long-running Australian children's television series Skippy, in which a pet kangaroo rescued people in distress in the Australian bush, the kangaroo began barking until Richards' wife came to investigate.

Kangaroo's can bark???

Who would have thunk it
