The Guild 9-15-2003 Salma Hayek looking for man....

...with more balls than her.

Salma Hayek says she's still single because she has yet to meet a man with more balls than her.

The 37-year-old star of Once Upon A Time in Mexico told Austrian magazine Woman she wants to settle down and start a family but has not yet found the right man.

She said: "My mum's always asking me: "When will you finally get married?" And I always say: "When I find a man who has more balls than me".

The actress, who says she has come close to marriage four times, added: "What worries me the most is that most men are so weak. Because of that they act like they don't care and like machos - because they are too fragile inside.

"They're scared of confrontation and afraid of so many things. And because of this they build up their life so they have to deal with their feelings as little as possible."

The star, who is currently dating Hulk actor Josh Lucas, said her ideal man would be in touch with his feminine side.

She said: "I find feminine men unbelievably sexy. But most men are completely incapable of getting in touch with their feminine side. They don't have the courage to confront this part of their soul."

And she added: "What am I supposed to talk about with a man who doesn't know what it's like to be a woman?"

I saw Misha last night too. Oh my, my heart was skipping beats!

I was also glad that Miranda got back with Steve and we got rid of the doctor. He was too clingy for my tastes.

But when Misha called Carrie he was so cute, and jumping over the garbage pile, I swooned.

Looks like Geraldo brought a professional photographer along on his honeymoon and sold all the photos to the National Enquirer.

I don't know about you, but if I am having breakfast on my honeymoon, on my private balcony in St Tropez, there won't be anyone else there to take photos.

Notice his new tattoo. It's like a Superman tattoo, but it has an 'E' for Erica.

He's 60, she's 28, I am barfing.

I am now officially back online, they came and switched me to a different brand of cable modem today, so all is well. I am grateful, I was having serious withdrawl symptoms and missed you all too.

Good morning, guildabergers. Funny story about Christiane Amanpour this a.m., CNN gives Christiane private dressing down about her whining comments that the Clinton News Network has been intimidated by the Bush Administration and Fox News. Whatever.

As I read this story it seemed CNN big wigs were bending over backwards to say they had not slapped Christine's hands. (all the while they were resisting the urge to wring her neck)

LOL, I have a feeling you're right about buying Pfizer stock, now that Jerry Rivers has wed his child bride. Miss Clairol, too, I suspect.

Good Morning JL. Harvest began yesterday afternoon. Corn yields are better than expected. I did not ask the yield, the moisture content or the test weight. There have been complications with the equipment, and I know better than to interfer with those intense personalities.

Augggh, the neverending saga of Wesley 'n' Hillary:

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sen. Hillary Clinton says she's not a presidential candidate, but retired Gen. Wesley Clark's expected entry into the race is likely to start a fresh round of speculation about her White House ambitions. A cover story in New York magazine this week touts Clark and Clinton as a Democratic Dream Team.

"I talk to him all the time," Clinton said yesterday, but she sidestepped questions about whether she had urged him to run. "If he decides to run, I think he'll bring a lot to the campaign," she said.

The New York senator has known Clark, a fellow Democrat, for more than two decades. At a stop at the military academy yesterday, she lavished praise on the retired general's record while drubbing President Bush's policies on Iraq, the budget and emergency preparedness. [What class - dissing the Commander in Chief at the U.S. Military Academy while this nation is at war. I hope she received an appropriate response from her audience.]

Some Democrats are convinced Clinton's star power could bring down the Bush White House, and despite her denials there is continued chatter in party circles about a possible candidacy. Asked about conjecture that she might enter the Democratic field, Clinton said, "I've talked about this for so long, and I've said the same thing over and over again. I think I'll just leave it there." Ny Daily News

If Wesley doesn't hurry up and say yea or nay soon nobody will care, except for those strange scyophants of his.

Maddona has now graduated to terrorising kindergarten crowd:

Unlike the Pentateuch, the five books of Madonna begin with a 46-page kids' book titled "The English Roses." Read attentively, it yields an extremely personal, almost confessional glimpse into the author's raw feelings. Unfortunately, those feelings bespeak a persecution complex so narcissistic that she ought rather have paid readers $100 an hour than charged them 50 cents a page.

It's difficult to summarize "The English Roses" without exceeding it in length. Madonna begins matters with a somewhat needy rhetorical question, "Have you ever heard of the English Roses?", as if perhaps checking up on her publicity team. Will heads roll if we haven't?

Not to worry. She'll tell us precisely who the English Roses are, just as soon as she gets through telling us what they're not, i.e., "A box of chocolates. A football team. Flowers growing in the garden."

If the first page seems a tad early to be padding one's maiden book with straw men, relax. This is actually Page 6, the first five having consisted of a title page, dedication to the author's children and other front matter. All are illustrated with undue charm by "artist and model" Jeffrey Fulvimari in a witty, busy style that recalls the celebrated filigree of Ronald Searle, and the almond-eyed womanhood of the "I Dream of Jeannie" credit sequence. More

It's a long and scathing review but well worth the read. The reviewer discribes it as:

Madonna's kids' book lands with a thud Million copies of overblown, empty story

We'd be glad to put you on the ping list najida. Consider it done.

The Guild threads are about the topics of the day and can range from stupid Selma Hayek interviews to President Bush freezing Hamas assests to begin the thread. Then we just let it flow from there with all sorts of news topics to gossip and fashion.

Each thread usually runs about two or three days so you won't get that initial ping everyday. Come on by and join in when you can and I'll try to remember to ping you for this or that.

Glad you're here, have fun!

That book review was excellent. I have to admit, once I saw the hideous and poorly-written 46-page book was going for $19.95, I may have gone into shock.
