Just out of curiosity I just checked
the Boston Globe to see how they're covering the Kerry announcement.
I kid you not: It's not even on their front page!
Well, there is this one headline: "Millionaire Bequeaths a Surprise". But that turned out to be about the former meanest man in Jackson County, not Kerry.

Schwartzenegger's latest line (a good one):
"Here's how it works: money comes in, favors go out. The people lose. We need to send a message: game over."
"Pithy", as O'Reilly would say.

From today's Iowa Presidential Watch website:
CBS poll reveals Unknown Wannabes most voters dont know any of the Dem hopefuls. The main question, however: Is Sharpton an overachiever or Kerry an underachiever? The two are tied for fourth, tied at 5%.
http://www.iowapresidentialwatch.com/pages/Daily1.htm The site is just full of 'good stuff' tonite... worth a visit.

It's going to be tough. You're trying to beat an incumbent who has all this money, and who has got the field all to himself, while all this infighting is going on in the Democratic Party. Walter F. Mondale in NY Times, former Dem VP addressing the 2004 situation Boo - hoo - hoo. Kinda like that '96 race we ran against the 'toon. sheesh.
You're right lots of good stuff at the PW website. Going back for more.

More from IPW site,,, this time on Hillary's accusations of an EPA Coverup surrounding 9-11:
Must read: Hillary's expertise subhead from yesterdays Inside Politics column in the Washington Times. Excerpt from Greg Pierces report: We're not making this one up, folks. In a video snippet you can play for yourself on the NY1 News Web site, Hillary Rodham Clinton accuses the Bush White House of a coverup at the highest level, the Wall Street Journal says in an editorial at www.OpinionJournal.com.
'What transpired in the White House?' an angry Mrs. Clinton asked this [past] week from the steps of New York's City Hall. 'I know a little bit about how White Houses work. I know somebody picked up a phone, somebody got on a computer, somebody sent an e-mail, somebody called for a meeting, somebody, probably under instructions from somebody further up the chain, told the EPA, 'Don't tell the people of New York the truth,' and I want to know who that is.
Mrs. Clinton's coverup accusation was prompted by a report from the Environmental Protection Agency's inspector general, which says the Bush Administration prodded the EPA to issue reassuring reports about the air quality in Lower Manhattan after September 11.
She's not buying the argument that, in the chaotic aftermath of that day, no one really knew what was going on with air quality. Maybe the first couple of days, Mrs. Clinton allows. 'But a week later, two weeks later, two months later, six months later? Give me a break. They knew, and they didn't tell us the truth,' she says.
This, of course, comes from the same woman who as first lady thought it understandable that her long-subpoenaed records could suddenly materialize in a room right next to her White House study.
'I think people need to understand that there are millions of pieces of paper in the White House,' she told Barbara Walters, 'and for more than two years now people have been diligently searching.'
Recall that she also dismisses the collection of hundreds of FBI files of Bush and Reagan appointees as a 'bureaucratic snafu' by innocent newcomers 'who did not recognize the mistake.'
And who can forget her classic disavowal of any responsibility for the sacking of staffers in the White House Travel Office? the newspaper asked.
We suppose Mrs. Clinton's explanations have to be taken on faith. So if the honorable junior senator from New York now wants to argue that she knows a coverup when she sees it, because she knows all about how these things work, who are we to argue?

Re: The Boston Globe. I was thinking today, would the people of Mass feel dissed, slighted by Kerry going to S. Carolina to 'announce'?
I skimmed all the top nation stories and there is no story at all. Perhaps the no story is my answer. hehehe
Either that or the reporter that covered the story is just now recovering from the hot humid weather of S. Carolina.
Lovin' the Schwartzenegger line, very pithy.

I've noticed that since it's been pointed out that hillary is able to so easily recognize a coverup she's been very quiet.

I forgot how stupid this sounded until I read at the
IPW. :-)
On the Clark Wannabe Watch: Under the subhead Clark's 'artillery' in yesterdays Washington Times, Greg Pierce reported in his Inside Politics column: Wesley Clark's closest friends say the retired general leans toward jumping into the race to become the Democratic Party's nominee for the 2004 presidential race, Newsweek reports. I've got recon out there, Mr. Clark told the magazine, rejecting the notion it might be too late to enter the race. I've got some heavy artillery that can come in. I've got logistics, I've got strategic mobility. But Mr. Clark, who would become the 10th candidate for the nomination, did not say specifically that he would enter. Mr. Clark, 58, was the supreme allied commander in Europe and led NATO forces in the war against the Serbs in Kosovo in 1999. Mr. Clark slammed President Bush's recent speech in which he painted Iraq as the main theater in the worldwide fight against terrorism. You can't win without a vision, and that means working with allies, Mr. Clark told the magazine. It means using force when it's appropriate, and as a last resort, and not because it looks easy. Because, as we're finding out in Iraq, it isn't easy.
Funny thing that, thought that's what the president has been doing. We knew it wouldn't be easy (people with a brain) but like Bremer and Wolfowitz have said, they didn't realize just how deteriorated the infrastructure would be.

I have a really bad feeling about that Clark.

How do you mean? Bad, he could win? Some people think he'll run with hillary or Dean.

Hold on to your socks IG, here comes the Dowd. This is the other lie we need to swat down, there was/is no plan in Iraq.
The Bush foreign policy team always had contempt for Bill Clinton's herky-jerky, improvised interventions around the world. When it took control, it promised a global stewardship purring with gravity, finesse and farsightedness.
But now the Bush "dream team" is making the impetuous Clinton look like Rommel. [got word of that new book did ya Maureen?]
When your aim is remaking the Middle East, you don't want to get stuck making it up as you go along. if you must, here's more.
Sure Maureen, the Bush Admin was supposed to foretell everything that would unfold. Is this woman completely stupid?

V.S. Naipaul was an undergraduate at Oxford's University College, whose tradition of distinguished overseas visitors has since dwindled to encompass Chelsea Clinton. Shoot, V.S. Naipaul is an excellent author, I've read several of his books. He literally bootstrapped himself out of poverty and a life of hopelessness, why in the world is he hanging around with Chels???

My, how the wheel has turned. Hillary disparaged cookie baking wives in the 1992 election, and a short 12 years later, Teresa Heinz Kerry is alledgly baking them and handing them out to the press. Calling NOW, calling NOW.

It just chills you to the bone to think what those wannabes did to this country, doesn't it? It's like they were "playing" government for 8 years. That's the best description that I've heard of how the Clintons "governed" this country. They had/have no idea of how to lead or how to govern, they focus grouped all of their decisions to see what was popular, and took all the perks of the office for themselves and their cronies. It's almost as if they were aliens, imitating what true leaders do.

Yes, but Theresa Kerry served the brownies from a disposable foil pan. Even I know enough to transfer things into Tupperware or Rubbermaid stuff if you want to pass it off as homemade.
There was earlier speculation that the Kerry chef probably made the brownies. Wish I had a chef. I'd serve stuff in foil containers, too, if I did.
