I think she used a surrogate mother, i.e., the "rent a womb" technique.

I also saw a magazine that wrote about Joan Lunden's struggle to have her twins.

What struggle? She paid someone else to have them!!!

She will be 70 for their high school graduation.

OMG. She should be maxing out on the Hot Flashes about the time they hit the Terrible Twos. She's lost her mind. She's going to need 3 Nannys. One for each child and one for herself.

LOL - keep whacking at that rampaging sage! Thanks for the offer.

I forgot all about it! There are things that are so wretched that when viewed my memory automatically deletes it. Joan Lunden having twins (albeit by someone else's womb) at 52 is one of those.

I wonder if Mrs Dean will receive a makeover ala Hillary.

I hope so. Bless her Heart. It will take a considerable amount of time. She'd better get started.

I was watching an interview with Dean yesterday and he stated that he will win the presidency because he is going to absolutely win Texas and California. Those states are a lock for him.

Hmmmmm, I wonder if the Texas voters know.

Yes, I'm sure the Texas voters will go for Dean's pro-homosexual marriage stance, as well as his other out-of-the-mainstream views.

The Texans really LOVE Dean's stance on gun control, too /sarcasim

We mustn't do too much to diss Dean. He will make an absolutely DREAM opponent. He's the one we want.

At the West Indian Day Parade, Sen. Hillary Clinton didn't appear to let her rousing welcome go to her head. She said President George Bush can be defeated but that she won't be the Democrat trying to unseat him in 2004.

"It's something I'm not going to do, but it's obviously a huge issue on everyone's mind," Clinton told reporters at the soggy event, when asked about a published report that former Gov. Mario Cuomo would support her if she were to run for the White House.

"We need to defeat the incumbent," Clinton added, "and I think he is beatable. I don't want to see four years with no accountability for this administration and no (competitive) election at the end. I think that would be terrible for New York and terrible for America. So I'm going to do everything I can to elect a Democrat."

A Bangladeshi hawker sells the English and Bengali versions of 'Living History,' authored by former U.S. first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, in Dhaka, September 2, 2003. Bangladeshi writer Pramit Hossain translated the book into Bengali and it is being sold for 250 taka ($4.28). The downloaded English version is sold for 400 taka ($8.56). REUTERS/Rafiqur Rahman

Between the bargain-basement pricing and the hundreds of cases of books purchased by the DNC, it's no wonder Lardbottom's book is selling!

The "gayest person in New York" includes Chelsea Clinton in his book about “fearlessly inappropriate and fabulously eccentric women.”

Where does Chelsea Clinton fit into the wacky chick line?

“I don’t know. I was hoping she’d become a very out lipstick lesbian or something like that. That would add a wrinkle to the whole scenario. I was a bit perturbed to see her wearing banquet gowns from Versace and showing up at red carpet events. That doesn’t seem very appealing, that just seems like she’s a bit of an idiot. It would be nice if she had some sort of exceptional trait.”

Would you give Chelsea a discount at Barneys?

“Celebrities are always on the take. As a retailer I am completely appalled. The only ones with any money, with a disposable income, who make $8 million a movie, the only people who can afford couture gowns and tchotchkes from Jonathan Adler are the ones who want it for free. So as far as I’m concerned they can all go fuck themselves. They need to open their purses and buy stuff. It’s embarrassing! They keep saying, ‘It’s so sad I have to give this dress back.’ Well, bitch, if you bought it you could keep it and give it to your grandchildren!”
Dallas Voice

What is this, diss Chelsea day? In a story about the writer V.S. Naipaul, this snippet:

(He was an undergraduate at Oxford's University College, whose tradition of distinguished overseas visitors has since dwindled to encompass Chelsea Clinton.) Australian Financial Review.

Ouch!

My apologies, I didn't notice the f-bomb in the gayest person in New York's comments, or I would have edited it.

Indeed, it did. No offense taken here. Altho I admit to being somewhat confused. I thought one of my sons somehow became a writer worthy of being posted in the Guild. ;~)
