How hot was it in the South Pacific in WWII?? Where were the AC units??? I don't know just how hot and humid it was in the South Pacific, but we also fought in North Africa in conditions exactly like those in Iraq, except the Germans, who really knew how to fight back, were shooting at our soldiers.

Well, I'd have to do some reseach, but I'm guessing there were some self inflicted wounds to avoid duty in WWII. Some people just can't handle war and what goes with it.
I agree, that the men in WWII were a tougher breed then today, they didn't have many things like AC
As for the bitching back home and our boys being abused .. honestly, it's the media feeding the public .. unfortunately some can't think for themselves and realize what is involved and what will happen if we pull out and run with our tails between our legs.
