How hot was it in the South Pacific in WWII?? Where were the AC units???

I don't know just how hot and humid it was in the South Pacific, but we also fought in North Africa in conditions exactly like those in Iraq, except the Germans, who really knew how to fight back, were shooting at our soldiers.
