I don't know just how hot and humid it was in the South Pacific, but we also fought in North Africa in conditions exactly like those in Iraq, except the Germans, who really knew how to fight back, were shooting at our soldiers.

Well, I'd have to do some reseach, but I'm guessing there were some self inflicted wounds to avoid duty in WWII. Some people just can't handle war and what goes with it.

I agree, that the men in WWII were a tougher breed then today, they didn't have many things like AC

My son Gavin who finished boot camp a few weeks ago told me about some of the guys in there with him who had such whiney, or argumentative and overall awful attitudes. He was disgusted with them -- what did they expect anyway? How can anyone be so stupid as to not know boot camp is tough and you are a nobody as a fresh recruit. And many of those scumbags were not kids - some were well into their 20s.

LBJ was perfectly capable of having Jesus killed if there was an advantage in it, but it doesn't add up.
If he had killed JFK before the convention he would have been the presidential nominee, though I doubt he could have beaten Nixon.
Lyndon was sure smart enough to have the job done on the Eaast Coast or the West Coast where he wouldn't be suspected. Certainly not in Texas anyway.

My money is still on Carlos Marcello and the New Orleans Mafia. They also controlled Dallas, so it was their turf.

Of course, but Marcello had reason enough of his own. He had a deal with Joe Kennedy to support JFK in the election and the justice dept would go easy on the mob. Instead Bobby began trying to deport him, in fact he succeeded for a while. As far as the Mob was concerned, JFK and RFK were part of the Boston Irish Mob and had double crossed them. When asked about killing Bobby, Marcello is supposed to have said "cut off the head and the tail will die". It would have been too dangerous to kill Bobby with JFK President, it would have been the end of the mob, so JFK had to go first.

Thsnk you westy... but I am at wit's end with two left at home. Their disrespect for me has made life unbearable. Mr Right isn't even going to see me again because he cannot tolerate their swearing and yelling at me (and he was only exposed to it briefly during a phone call at a bad time) -- no good man would put up with it.
