But, the impression I get, is that of a bunch of people endlessly arguing the finer points of basically unanswerable questions. I'm glad WE don't have debates like that over here.......now, why did PJ edit TTT the way he did?

Thing is, I understand all the words, but I don't have one CLUE as to what they are talking about, let alone who is agreeing or disagreeing.
It's like a big tossed word salad!

There is a great difference, Ksen. A heated debate about Peter Jacksons editing of a movie from a book is just that, a movie and a book, both temporal. Christianity and ones faith is eternal and the stakes are much higher. There are a lot of young Christians and unbelievers on the Free Republic site. In addition, there are many here who are new to the whole conservative political scene. I do not want to get into some theological discussion here, as I dont think this is the place for it, but I do feel that a gentle reminder may be in order here. Everything is permissible-but not everything is beneficial. Everything is permissible-but not everything is constructive. Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. 1Cor.10; 23,24
Concerning the movie The Ring, I am in total agreement with you. My daughter who is a senior attending a Christian university went to see it with a group of fellow classmates, some were guys, also seniors. The guys got so scared they were screaming out loud in the theater. Aimee said she will never go see that movie again and will not permit it to be shown in their apartments there on campus. Aimee can watch movies that I cant get through. If any of you are considering bringing this movie into your home, I would be prayed up and caution your children. My views for what they are worth.
