The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen a sandburr...ever! I guess that's a very GOOD thing, but I must say I'm finding this conversation fascinating!

I truly believe they are satanic.

Take care. Take a good book. We'll keep you and her in our prayers and await a good report.Thanks. I'm taking my Palm Pilot. I'm reading "The Hobbit" on it. It also has a few dozen MP3s (gotta bring some headphones), and a dozen games. The batteries should last long enough.
Thanks again for all the good thoughts.

I may be a bit Hobbitcentric in my view, but then I have never studied Spamieneism doctrine and may not understand the finer points..

Ugh! Nasty lookin' little things, aren't they? Yeah, I could see those hurting!
To: 2Jedismom
Ouch! (the toe thing)
I'm hoping to move before September. Right now I'm trying to get the house on the market ...you know...Mother Clean. I've got a place to move to so now I have to move the cat and get with the movers. I don't have to move the furniture until the house sells.
To: Overtaxed
My brother just moved from Midland to the Houston area. He had like 3 weeks notice, no kidding!
His furniture is arriving today.

kinda back again here at the HH until Terry has tied up loose ends and I drive him to the airport. Crazy times here...trying not to lose my sanity.
Drifted over to The Neverending Story thread you all had referred to and....I don't get this. From what I did read of it, I feel like I'm back into all the reasons I'm reading Yancy's "Soul Surviour, How My Faith Survived The Church". Am I not understanding and misjudging the thread? I don't want to.

ksen is the regular TNS poster. We've only really followed them lately because of the implosion issue.
I can say this 'cause I'm prolly the worst offender for bringing issues across threads, but we try not to discuss some subjects here, theology being one of them. We do share prayer requests (and answers), but we are quite ecumenical.
But, IMHO, you're probably exactly right in your first impression. Others would disagree.
I'd be interested in hearing more about Yancey's book. I love his work. Is this a new one?
To: mstar
It makes my head spin, but beyond that....

Sorry to hear things are crazy there... hope they get more calm soon!
About the Neverending Story... well... I'm not the person to ask I think, because I've only kept an eye on it to see when they reached 65,535 messages. But, the impression I get, is that of a bunch of people endlessly arguing the finer points of basically unanswerable questions.
That's just my impression, though.

But, the impression I get, is that of a bunch of people endlessly arguing the finer points of basically unanswerable questions. I think you nailed it Bear.
To: Corin Stormhands
The book came out in 2001. It has taken me some time to get though it, which is good. It's "meaty" enough to make you stop, muse, and pray about things. In my opinion, he blows "religious Church trips" right out the window. To me, it has been a breath of fresh air.
The simple act of sharing prayer requests and the "fruit" of caring about someone's life is good enough for me on a thread.

Got ya and "mums" the word. Like Corin says, Bear, seems like you nailed it.
Gotta go, Terry and the airport are calling.
