The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I couldn't find breakfast, my kitchen is still a mess and I don't care. Terry is on the phone in a not so good conversation, I got to get him ready for his airport day, so gotta go. No one seems to want to talk with me anyway. Where that paint? Wonder if my friend, "paint drying", is having a nice day.

Where can I find a link to the Entmoot Castle pics, again?
Sorry for the half-a$$ed maybe. I will tell you tonight one way or another what I will be doing.

I don't want to pry, but did I miss where you described what kind of knee surgery?Total knee replacement of the left knee. The doctor says that's the only severe arthritis she has, and should experience significant pain relief and increased mobility. Still no word as to when, today, and it's 1PM local time.

Total knee replacement of the left knee. My m-i-l has had both knees and a shoulder replaced. I hope all goes well for your mom.

Here is the castle page, is that what you meant? Hope so!
http://www.floridavacations.com/fv/1786.html ecurbh has hidden his page of entmoot details from the main pages in preparation for telling TORN about Flat Frodo... and I keep forgetting to make a shortcut to it!

My Grandma had both knees replaced and was HUNDREDS of times better afterwards.
Her confidence level in her own walking went way up, and I think that was half of it!

That thread makes my head spin.
But I did get a chuckle out of the proposition that perhaps the HH implosion was the trigger that started the chain of events that led to the blackout!

I think this would be a cool place to take Frodo.
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/park/dinosaur/ If I were up in the northern part of Texas I would.
And..
Be sure and check out the places in Texas State Parks where - this year - no license will be needed to fish. This is awesome, and amazing. I always get my license anyway, but so often family and friends want to fish and don't want to fork over the big bucks that it costs now, for just a weekend! This is great.

Wow! - What a place!

I think this would be a cool place to take Frodo.Have been there and done that a couple of times. It would be an awesome place for Frodo. There is also the Lone Star Dulcimer Festival in which all sorts of folk music is played (and not just on dulcimers) at the Oakdale Campground in Glen Rose. It is held in May. Frodo would enjoy that as well, I think.

When do you actually move?
We have two utility poles in our back yard, right next to each other. One is brand new, with electric on it...the other is falling down, but still has phone service to the house on it. I called the phone company and they are going to move the phone stuff onto the new pole and take down the old one, so I'll just have the one pole to deal with. It's hard to explain, but it's why we don't have a privacy fence in that back corner...we wanted that old pole out before we put it up. Here...I'll take a picture in a sec and show you what I mean.
Anyway...since we're expecting phone workers here, the chickens are put up in the coop. They are none too happy with me. Every time I go out the back yard, they run to the door of their coop and stare at me expectantly...
Sigh.

Oh, and that's not all!
When I was chasing the chickens around, trying to get them into the coop, I stumbled over Steve's heavy duty metal chair out there and broke my toe. I'm convinced it's broken...it's blue, won't bend without excruciating pain and hurts half way up my foot!
Nothing can be done for it, though...

Nothing can be done for it, though...I try not to give medical advice, especially to a nurse, but having just recovered from actually going to a doctor and being a good patient, I now feel qualified to say that perhaps you should have that looked at. You seem to be under-reacting!

Here...this section between the back of our shop and the front part of our neighbor's fence is the only part that isn't privacy fenced in our yard now. That's because it's city easement. See the two poles, one is grey, the other is black, there on the right? We need to get that old black looking pole out before we fence that part off. Currently it just has hog panels stuck up there.
Steve has a plan where the fence will be simply "bolted" into place, instead of screwing or nailing it...that way it will be removable, in case access is needed on the easement.
Oh, and see that blue-ish chair, down in the lower right-hand corner? That's the chair I stumbled over. Josh is on his way to check on the unhappy chickens...
