The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Maybe if I put my tagline on my bumper, I'll get less tickets.

I am sure it is very cheery!

I'm going home now. See you later. If the car doesn't stall too much.

Have you wandered by any of the "movies are evil" threads? Might be a good place to rant.
Home. Feeling down for no particular reason. Thinking of going out again and getting eggnog with the few bucks I have in my pocket, which need to last me until Thursday. Guess I can always pick up some ramen to make up for the minor splurge...
To: RosieCotton
Didn't know about the movies are evil threads. Weird.
I was very sad most of the afternoon, though, after all, a ticket is really a very minor mishap, so I guess I shouldn't worry about it much.
Relaxed and happier now, asked Jeanne to get a pint of ice cream on the way home, which we don't do often. Yep, I'll probably have an egg nog Christmas Eve.
Am in the middle of making atlatls for the kids for Christmas, am excited about that. You can kill a mastodon with one.

You can kill a mastodon with one. When was the last time you tested that? ;-)
Going for eggnog...have bourbon...be back...
To: RosieCotton
"When was the last time you tested that" I'll need some backup if I try it (in case one of the defrosted ones comes to life). But I read in the Wall Street Journal, which I subscribe to, several years ago, that you can easily through one through a car door. That was what got my interest. And the darts weigh over twice what an arrow does, so the kinetic shock would be great.

I hope you're happy. Just put colored lights on the ficus.Traitor.
To: Sam Cree
In a bad mood, got a speeding ticket today. Oh no! I hate to hear that Sam! Terrible news!!!
To: Sam Cree
I know how you feel about the ticket... I got one a couple of years ago that really ticked me off. Sure, I was speeding alright, but I really felt picked on. It was on a county road out to the house that I've driven thousands of times, and while the limit is 35, nobody but *nobody* ever drives 35 on it. One night, bang, there's the sheriff, and I haven't seen him there in any of the years before or since.
Now I just have people flipping me off as they pass my mustang because I'm the *only* one doing the limit.

Howdy howdy... :-)
To: Sam Cree
You can kill a mastodon with one.You know they're all over this part of Texas, and they need killin'
*eyes roll*
did i at least make you laugh?
To: Wneighbor
I'm in the all-one color camp on this thing. I like all white around the house, but I also like all-red or all-blue... that sort of thing running the roof line. Very classic, I think.

Now I just have people flipping me off as they pass my mustang because I'm the *only* one doing the limit. Oh dear. That would tick me off too! Really bad!
To: Sam Cree
You can kill a mastodon with one. Cool. I've heard we're having a problem around the neighborhood with those vermin knockin' over garbage cans and such.
To: Ramius
Howdy howdy... :-)Well hello there sweetheart! Did you finish the movie yesterday? And did you photograph your outside Christmas lights for us?
To: Ramius
To: Ramius
If I have to pick all one color I like blue. Too many people do white. And while I like those icicle lights - they are just everywhere. Blue seems very much better for just simple roofline thing. But, if doing up the whole place - I like lots of colors. Not that I've ever done the outside.
