The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…

Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

The Road Goes Ever On…

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I've been playing Darksheare's Spyglass game. I get a big chuckle every time.

Mrsnad...

Once, I bought some sugar that apparently had been stored near some fabic softener or something...very strongly perfumed.

I kept thinking my coffee cup had soap in it!

Finally I figured out it was the bag of sugar! I went back to the same store and all the sugar smelled the same way! I pointed it out to the manager...I mean this stuff smelled...well, it smelled mighty fresh, but not the way you want your sugar to taste! LOL

Well, Entmoot is not me.

Anybody can tell me what the little speaker thing is for on my page? Top right?

You now have a pager that will notify you if you receive posts or mail! Click the speaker thing and then it will sound if you get something to you.

Hullo! I'm here.

I had an interesting time driving the stick today. Half the time it was fine, but I stalled twice and just couldn't get moving again. Argh. I'll get it sometime soon...

Actually I stalled a half-dozen times. Those two were the times I couldn't get going again...

Jen, I started driving a stick when I was 12. I went to the DMV with my mom when I was 15 1/2 to get my permit. Leaving the parking lot, I stalled it 5 or 6 times in a row. sheesh. You'll get it.

Still Jen, you're doing quite well. In a few days, it'll be natural to you. You won't have to think about when you need to shift. It'll just feel right.

It won't take long. A week from now, you'll be doing burnouts and drag racing!

Didja have it in the wrong gear? It will all come to you VEY soon, never fear. It becomes so natural that you hate driving an automatic after this.

BTW, whilst I was in the attic today I unearthed my copy of The Silmarillion.

Shouldn't that be "un-Middle-earthed" your copy of The Silmarillion? ;^D

Doh! Back to lurking......

It is always the tires that I hate paying for when I do too many burnouts. And with some of the cars that I've had it was just impossible to resist burnouts. They just did it so well!

mmmm *goosebumps*

*breathe deeply and smell the burning rubber*

Been thinkin' about ya! My kids ate up the lunch (fried chicken strips and rice) so I had to scrounge around for something to eat! Ended up with a tin of kipper snacks and a can of spinach! LOL

I may eat another bagel.
