Where did everybody go? Hm...

Sigh...I don't want the weekend to be over.

But at least I've got the bread doin' its final rise...I'll have fresh bread and coffee for breakfast. That'll be good! Not a bad way to start a Monday, if you HAVE to start a Monday.

Did I mention I don't want the weekend to be over?

I'm here! Had another busy day, shopping for necessities for the new house. The move crescendo is about to peak. I can't wait for next weekend...next weekend I will be moved in and will be able to do next to nothing for two whole days.

Unfortunately, I'll be off-line. I will come in for my mini-mini opus on Tuesday evening before I unhook all the electronic equipment for the movers to pack on Wednesday. Thursday is the move day...we pick up the keys to the new place on Wednesday, how's that for cutting it fine?!

I won't be back on-line until sometime Nov. 24 (Monday of Thanksgiving week), when the new cable service gets installed. But I'll be back with an anti-mini-mini-Opus that evening (I hope). And by then all things should be settled down nicely (well, except work, which may NEVER settle down).

I'm looking forward to a number of weekends of doing absolutely nothing.

Things have been happening so fast that your head must be spinning! How many weeks ago was it when you were still looking for a job? Not very long ago, was it?

Sounds like the worst of the upheaval is about to be over, though. That will be a relief, no?

Yeah, the worst is about to be over. Things should get simpler and simpler as we move toward Thursday. By then, it's just let the movers load up and unload. There'll be a bit of a rush to get things put together enough that day to actually live normally.

I think this all started on October 15 in the evening, when I heard that I got the job in Tacoma. So, yeah, four weeks ago I was still looking and not knowing. Amazing time. I'll never forget it. Every detail has just fallen into place in the knick of time, over and over again. But, man, has it been exhausting. I'm going to go to bed really early tonight and just read till I fall asleep (which will probably be ten minutes after I start reading).

Not time to spam yet... I'm back, had to spend some family time. That is, had to threaten my brothers' lives if they didn't go to bed...

Sounds like a wonderful plan! I'm about to do the same myself.

Heh...if only we could travel that fast!

It just came out of the oven...better make it fifteen, so it'll be cool enough to slice. ;-)

I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here...need to hit the used book stores and library soon. I have a couple of action novels - one of which I'm reading - but that sort of thing is something I really have to be in the mood for, and lately I haven't been.

What do you like to read?

I just finished re-reading "Speaker for the Dead"; I had forgotten how good - and how different from "Ender's Game" - it was. Have you read those two books?

Haven't read those. Sci-fi? I'm not real knowledgeable about sci-fi authors.

Not that I have anything against it...just haven't gotten into it yet. Mysteries are a different story...those are what I usually what I read when I'm not attempting anything serious.
