The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

I've heard of anti-glare lenses...haven't seen them, though. Here they offer two kinds of plastic...one normal, one of some sorta lightweight material that's thinner and works a bit better.
Grrr...biting my nails here. The DMV van is here twice a month, today being one of those days. So Jim was gonna go ahead and register my car in his name, and though he DID just call and say he got the loan, they won't actually give him the money until tomorrow...which means that one of us will be driving illegally unless I can see if the dealership will let me take the van with a post dated check...not likely!
Otherwise he has to take much time off to drive to another DMV office, though. So we may just chance it.

Good job ecurb! Is Hair nagging you about these?
Ugh... don't wanna go to class... and just spent ten minutes on the phone telling my mother she needs to go away for the weekend. That was interesting... I never tell Mom what to do, ever, but she needed a prod in the right direction... sigh... guess I'm really an adult now.
So why is my acne acting up again?

I need anti-glare lenses; I've started getting headaches from spendings hours staring at lousy monitors. My laptop's got a great screen, but the desktops I use are just horrible.

First I saw of them was in Europe... OBX is Outer Banks. But you may be right that they came from Europe initially.

Excellent work Master Hobbit.
HOWEVER it falls to me to point out that the journey to the elves is not "Chapter 7."
We have not seen "Chapter 7." When Master Frodo left the company of the dwarves, he traveled north before travelling to Texas.
You know of where I speak...

Maybe we can do a sticker swap at Entmoot? Though why anyone would want a Vermont sticker...I don't know.We can exchange stickers.... I don't put 'em on my vehicle though. :-) I put 'em on my fridge! :-)

Just heard from the Chaplain's wife. He's going to be sent to Iraq. No word when.
I am overcome with a sense of disquiet over this...I feel for his family.
Well, as sad as I am for his family, it sounds like Iraq needs him, and they couldn't send a better guy.

My pickup has a window sticker from the ministry I ride with. And then it does have a bumper sticker that says "Don't call 'em a biker till you see 'em ride."

Mine has one for the college, too, but that's just a parking permit. I'm not proud enough of the place to put a REAL college sticker on it.
Sorta good news...my brother registered my car in his name and got NEW plates...so we're legal after all. He was planning to transfer, but they don't let you do that if you haven't sold the vehicle they're currently on.
But he won't sign the loan paperwork until tomorrow afternoon. Which means I probably won't get the van until Friday. Which I guess is OK...I just want this over and done with ASAP.
To: rugerman
Yep...I feel the same way.
Good to see you! I still blow on my whistles like life depends upon it...but only go to C and F very rarely.
Dale's bile at Bush is eating him up alive.

I go over there once in awhile...just to see if they're still bashing conservatives and Christians.
Sigh. At least the mandolin sites and list I favor tend to avoid religion and politics.
