And it's rainy for about the sixth day in a row.

It felt really raw out there this morning! The bank clock said 37 degrees. A little bit colder and this rain coulda been SNOW!! YIKES!

I caught the tail end of the last Gulf conflict, to an extent. We got a ribbon for it when we finished basic, though I've never been there. One of my bosses got a purple heart for a shrapnel injury he got during the Saudi blast - that's a real veteran.

But I guess it's all semantics, isn't it? But since the closest came to action was preparing some buildings when I was in Italy to possibly receive American refugees during the conflict in Albania ('97, I think? They didn't end up needing us.), I don't feel like I deserve the title. But I did wear the uniform...and I suppose that's somethin'.

Prayers going up that it's something simple!! Car trouble is always so frustrating!

We're waiting for the Gas company to call about fixing the upstairs furnace. SSQ has diagnosed the problem, and it shouldn't be too expensive to fix. We're trying to get it through one more winter cause were fixing to start retro-fitting the house for under-the- floor radiant heat. We can start doing that before the big remodel even gets started; and that looks like sometime late May or early June of 2004. SSQ is going to build a working model of the retro-fit set up and we're going to test it out. The 'already ready' subfloors with the aluminum skin and grooves cut for the Pex tubing are almost $10 a square foot!! SSQ figures we can do it ourselves for no more than $3/sf; a significant savings!!

Mornin' all! Finally wrapping up at work - I think.

Had a coupla problems come in though with getting things set up for classes starting next week so don't know if I'm going to get out of here this afternoon or tomorrow. UGH.

Was wanting to spend a day at home with friends and cut my long drive in half. Well, I'll still cut the long drive in half by leaving tomorrow but will miss some "home" time.

Gotta catch up now. Wade through the thread. Have patience!

Brother just stopped by and had me sign one last bit of paperwork for the car. Now he's going to make sure the bank is gonna come through on the loan...and then register my car in his name. If all goes well...or according to plan, anyway, I should be able to pick up the van later this afternoon.

Pardon me while I pace and feel ill for awhile. Either way, I'll be both happy and upset.

Mechanic thinks it's the governor (as opposed to the whole transmission). Thinks he can clean it and change the transmission fluid and it should be okay. We'll know today for sure.
