The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Good night, Bear!

Okay, I'm still up. Tryin' to get my email.
Using Outlook Express. Keeps timing out 'cause there's so much of it. But if I start over, it starts at the very begnning (usually a very good place to start...)
I went to the Comcast website and went to mail there. I deleted about 60 worthless messages. But it still won't give me all my mail in Outlook Express. I've emailed Comcast (and asked them to respond to an alternate email).
But, any suggestions?
To: Corin Stormhands
A couple of suggestions, and a question...
Check the Comcast mailtool to make sure the 60 messages are really deleted; sometimes they get stored in a "Trash" folder, but programs such as Outlook express will still try to download them. If there is a "Trash" folder in the Comcast mailtool, empty it to truly get rid of the deleted messages.
Once you do that, try closing Outlook Express, restarting Windows, and then opening Outlook Express again.
How many messages are waiting there for you? I've downloaded literally thousands of email messages at a time with no problem... but then I don't use Outlook Express either. If there are fewer than a couple hundred, and it keeps having this problem, you may want to look into a new email program and get rid of Outlook Express. (I know, that was really a big help, sorry.)

Too much Quervo, again.
To: Corin Stormhands
I don't use Outlook Express, so I'm not sure. Perhaps there is a setting to limit the download per session?
Sorry I can't help more.

Here's a nightlight for you.

I know I dont get there often enough
But God knows I surely try
Its a magic kind of medicine
That no doctor could prescribe
I used to rule my world from a pay phone
Ships out on the sea
But now times are rough
And I got too much stuff
Cant explain likes of me
But theres this one particular harbour
So far but yet so near
Where I see the days as they fade away
And finally disappear

Good morning, thread! Anyone up yet? Ugh...it's still too hot here. At least it's raining. Maybe that'll help.
I have tough decisions to make in the next couple hours...I'm working for an orientation at the college again this afternoon, which mostly means just being present for four or five hours in case something goes wrong during placement testing. Basically, you end up spending hours and hours reading. So I hafta decide what books to take. Hm...
Here's a nice coool morning picture:

Good morning to you, as well!

Happy Sunday! I'm stalling on getting my day started. Pretty soon I need to get ready for church.
And I really need to take a shower...

Go to www.mail2web.com, and check your mail from there. You'll get a list of all your email, with title and sender info. There's a box you can check next to each item that will let you delete it on Comcast's mail server without having to pull it in to your OE. I suspect there are some huge files on some of the email.
You "sign on" to the system by giving your email ID and password to them, just like you're signing on to Comcast email now.

Good Morning!
[sip] Having coffee and watching Star Trek TOS. Guess I need to get the cat fur off the verticle blinds and put them back up today.
The azaleas don't like all this rain.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Ooooo! So nice to be appreciated, my Fuzzy dear. You're welcome!

That IS a cool picture! One of the rare treats I had in life was to go flying on a really lousy day, and get above the rain and gloom to where it is always sunny, and put on sunglasses! It was dazzling to realize it was the same planet as a couple thousand feet below.
When we would land back in the gloom, we could tell that our whole outlook was improved! And everyone else was still so gloomy.

Corin is you email fixed? Not yet. Comcast email said to call. I'll work on that this afternoon. I'm able to go to the site 300winmag provided as well as the Comcast site to get my mail. It says my first account only has 15 messages (after I cleared a bunch), the second account has no messages.
But, every time I try to load Outlook Express, it loads three messages and stalls.
Gotta run. Back later.
To: HairOfTheDog
Oh no! Is it your neck or your back?
To: ecurbh
It's my neck and shoulder! It's really frustrating! Luckily the bathroom is on the right. Heh.
