I do see his point! ohoh. you just go right on playin' what you want Rosie. I just have to acknowledge the master. Master of bluegrass mandolin...not all things mandolin!
This guy is a hardcore bluegrasser who for the most part doesn't care for other styles. So I think it bugs him a bit that it's not what I concentrate on. I like it, but at the moment at least, I spend more time practicing tunes (pronounced chooons...).

I heard that! These Yankees up here use bread cube stuffing! GAK! That ain't proper dressin'. Bad thing is, I can't get sage to grow up here in the slag heaps. So, I gotta use dried now. Ain't as good.

Pour Favor=If you please I thought it was 'sil vous plais', but I don't speak frog. I spick a little spinach now and then. Should do it better, it was my minor in college, but if you don't use it, you lose it!
I'll have to re-learn it to teach the kids, though.

Too much Beevus and Buthead. It's stress relief. I need it.

I remembered because I know what RSVP stands for...
"répondez s'il vous plaît"
Which means "Reply if you please."
"s'il vous plaît" means if it pleases you...

And it is a doozy since one side is Cherokee and the other is Comanche. This could mean we are related!
My great great grandmother was a renegade from the Cherokee nation. She is the one from whom supposedly, according to the Grama lore I get my heritage. First daughter of first daughter of first daughter of first daughter of first daughter of the generation. It was a big deal to Grama. Therefore, IMO, it must be a big deal. Unfortunately it don't pay my bills! LOL
And the romantic in me likes carrying on the family heritage of a renegade!

I think she was Cherokee, but I'm not certain. My Daddy was part Indian. I thought he had said Chickasaw, but my older siblings think it's Cherokee. My sister lived in Tulsa for a while and went to the Museum of the Five Nations (is that the name, 2J) to look up some ancestors, but couldn't find anything.
I'm guessing that his family peeled off the Trail of Tears as they came over the north part of MS and just disappeared into the woods. That would have made them disinclined to sign up for any government census later.
My Daddy's profile looked just like the Indian on the Buffalo Nickel. Cause of that, his CB handle used to be 'Nickel Nose'.

I enjoyed being with my cousins (so did PE, or so he says) on Saturday. I have quite a few photographs that got identified, thank goodness! And.... come to find out, my greatgrandmother's father was the deputy sheriff of Hill county 1880s-1890s. At some point, he also got identified as the sheriff of Cook County. This was interesting because his surname was Cook.
