White vinegar, of course. Southerners don't even know what wine vinegar is, really.
To: .38sw
Oh, and do let your eggs set up for a spell before eating...like three days or such.
To: Conservababe
Thanks. I wasn't thinking wine vinegar, I only use that for salad dressing and marinades. But cider vinegar came to mind. And yes, I'll let them "pickle" for awhile before eating them. I'll have them all to myself, also. My husband is allergic to poultry and eggs.

That is an incredibly beautiful picture of million bells. I had never heard of them before until Ringy said last spring or summer that her &*%#$# gophers ate ALL her million bells. She said she had HUGE baskets of them hanging in all the trees and she came out all the baskets were still hanging but they were hanging empty!! LOL It must have been extremely annoying tho. If I recall I think she had decided to committ gopher homicide.

What I meant was, Felicia, the ferret
would stick her little nose in my ear.
You let some critter do that, especially
when it decides to sniffle in you ear.
Hearing little snorts from a hotdog looking
rat is... different to say the least.
A Dream Within A Dream
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow -
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?
~ Edgar Allan Poe (1827)
Then I lift my heavy hand
Open wide to loose the sand
Golden grains float in a cloud
Softly fall, lost in the crowd
Of fellow scattered dreams -
Nothing was as it seemed
Yet not one is ever gone
The tiny grains live on and on
Where is the man who can say
O God make this one go away!
Each created dream will stay.
Come lie with me among these dreams
In love more real than e'er it seemed
Someday someday someday!
~ Valerie (1997)

This is a pic of the new Safari Trek RV our friends Pat and Ernie in FL just bought.
It is a 26' with the room of a 36'. The bed and closets fold away in the ceiling. It has a comple full bath and kitchen with Corian counters.
This is the painting on the back. They all have original paintings, and there are about 20 other animals painted in the Lion's fur. She has found almost all of them.

Mom... are you checking this out? ;)
To: Conservababe
Babe, that sounds like a great idea.. Find some old Conservatinve widow woman that lives well and go for it. Just make sure she isn't an old phart and likes her evening highball. Hey, even a couple..if at least one of them is on their two feet.. ;)
I would place some adds in some of the papers. Winter season is coming, and if they don't live there year round they will be heading there around Nov like us.
It could work out really well for the winter season.. Maybe an nice big house as a live in, and on the water?

*Don't those things bite?*
Mo, most things bite.. and that's not always a bad thing.. ;) You just have to train them right..

Oh my goodness Lynn.. Gophers climb trees? The only thing that ruins my gardens are Chipmunks and excessive rain.
I am trying so hard to keep them picked and all the rotted stuff off them, but I think I am fighting a losing battle.. Some are gone now.. What a waste of time..not to mention money.
Between the rainy spring and late start and now all this rain it's enough to make you cry..
I just opened all the windows to let some fresh air in because the sun peeked out, but now it's looking like rain again.. All those damned windows to close again.. Well, at least I got outside, bug bit and all.. and got the house aired out for awhile.. Maybe if we're lucky we'll see some sun by Tues.. :(
