A very Freudian post.

Concerning lighthouses, the Great Lakes has a huge variety of them that still exist. No fantasy here, just beautiful structures adorning crystal waters. We have several that we have the good fortune to see every year near our summer place.

Lake Michigan is one of the seven wonders....forget Pharos.

Well, as I mentioned it's one of the seven wonders
of the ancient world. The others are The Colossus
of Rhodes, Babylon's hanging gardens, a statue of
Zeus at Olympia, The Great Pyramid of Egypt, The
Temple of Artemis at Ephesus & the Mausoleum at
Halicarnassus. The Colossus & the statue of Zeus no
longer exist. The Temple of Artemis was burned
down by a guy trying to make his name well known or
immortalized or something like that. The Mausoleum is
gone, except for a few bits & pieces. A set of horses from
the roof still existed last I knew. The Great Pyramid is the last wonder.

No all the time .. I remember once he got on my case about Dana and being to hard on her. I said if she wasn't so sneaky and tried the truth sometime I wouldn't have to be. That child is the one that will be sneaking out of the house to meet her friends and take the car when she' not suppose to. I know I can't control her ever move when she gets older, but I just want her to think twice before doing something stupid.

I'm not one of those overbearing nasty moms .. but I do expect respect and good manners, especially when they are out in public or in someone's home. .. Most times I don't have to say anything, but there are times that I do have to give "The Look".

Lately Jessie has been a real smart @ss with her comments to me, I try to pick and choose my battles there .. but she is REALLY trying my patience .. *L*

But Pharos' lighthouse no longer exists.
I happen to like reading about the beauty that was.
I'm trying to find a good time for my dad to take me
to the Met so I can see more ancient beauty. I'm sure
the things you see are lovely too, but history & pieces
from the past have always captured my imagination.
