i prefer it this way. i know he loves me, and as i have said, i don't go for the ooey gooey talk. my dad wasn't that way, AT ALL, and maybe that is why i prefer it this way.

My mom and dad also have never been expressive. I find that being expressive is much more rewarding whether it is a good feeling or bad feeling you express. In professional life we wear so many masks and keep so many secrets. For me it's good to be expressive in your personal life. One thing my kids tell me frequently is how much they appreciate my open love for them. They say that their friend wish their dads were like me. I was always the most popular parent with the kids on the track team from 7th grade through 12th grade.
