Teenager paid £7 an hour to catch cow dung
A Norwegian teenager has landed a summer job collecting cow dung - before it hits the ground.
Svein Tore Hauge, 14, has to follow cattle around with a pan waiting for them to defecate, reports Aftenposten.
He is collecting the samples for a research firm which needs them to be in pristine condition.
Svein, who is paid £7 an hour, told Jaerbladet newspaper: "You can see from the tail that something is coming.
I just have to wait until they do it.
"Sometimes it just sprays in all directions. The consistency varies from cow to cow. It's important to note things like this, so that I can run away if I need to."
But he said he enjoys the job: "Working outdoors is right for me, because I like fresh air. Not everyone could do this. It's not for city folks."
The samples will chart milk production to grass intake, and also map the effect of white clover as fertilizer.
Each cow gets its own pan.
