See http://www.abcnews.go.com/sections/primetime/Entertainment/dixiechicks030423.html for text of the interview.
It was Clinton-like in its patronizing dishonesty and incredible narcissism.
In so many words: "We said we 'support the troops' (code for "we just hope they get defeated", but we'll pass over that because it's bad for record sales) - why are all these extremists unfairly picking on us?"
This ought to rank up there with Connie Chung's interview of Gary Condit as a rehabilitation attempt which backfired. They came across as really loathesome.

To be brutally honest, there has been no effect, other than the odd phone call to a building inquiring about a refund.

Fits missy to a tee, doesn't it? AND many other 'celebrities'!

It will be interesting to see how many tshirts and cd's they sell at their conderts. Will fans who feel cheated that they could not get their money back now buy dixi chix memorabilia? nope.

I bet tonight was planned months in advance as part of the kick off in their concert series. (to help cd sales)

Will fans who feel cheated that they could not get their money back now buy dixi chix memorabilia? nope. I'm not a concert go-er, is that usual - to not give the money back?

But what can you expect from [chicks] that would take their clothes off for a magazine cover? Then say they want to be "role models" for young women.Just what we need: First, Britney-style role model low-riding, hip-hugger jeans and too-small trampy t-shirts with no gut coverage, and now, in-your-face Dixie Chick role model nudity with temporary text tattoos....
Last summer, when Britney ruled, I hated leaving the house because of all the sight pollution; this summer when the chicks come out, I don't know what I'll do.

no, ticket master has a no refund policy. However, if you paid by credit card you can call the credit card company and cancel the charge and say they never mailed you the tickets.

I think everything under General Interest is called CHAT!? They moved it while I was writing a reply earlier, I usually click BACK to get to where I left off, and it wasn't there!!LOL

She could go and have a good time freeping and booing them. I suggest someone drop her off so she doesn't pay parking and that she doesn't buy any refreshments or DC stuff though.

Meany, LOL. You must have been watching out of your rear view mirror!

If the concert goers went to the show and all demanded refunds prior to letting them sing and then walked out. I wonder if the Dixie Chicks would get the message and cancel the tour and refund the money. The truly right thing to do.
They claimed the money meant nothing to them.BS!!!!!

You don't like seeing p**** hair? /sarcasm I know you're having fun, but that's not an appropriate comment to make to a lady...even in this day and age.

What is going on with their representation?I was thinking the same thing when I read part of the transcript. Whoever their handler is, should be fired. I was puzzle by some words that Maines chose to use. I'm thinking of 'correlation' and 'compassion' for example, that I thought were oddly used.

Maine's public comments about Toby Keith and the words of his song is incredible. What in the world was she thinking? Why would anyone say something like that? It is just cruel and unnecessary... If their careers take a dive I would bet that the 'sisterhood' takes a dive also.

I think the Dixie Chicks are a bit clueless.
Diane Sawyer would ask a question and they would totally not understand it or dodge it. It was a disaster.
