My 2 cents:
The Dixie Chicks did the best Star Spangled Banner I have ever heard. I am VERY sorry their comments ruined it for me.
Prediction: (may not happen, of course) After the war winds down, W invites the DCs to the WH for a command performance. After all, he is a uniter, not a divider. And maybe he can change their minds some.

This would be VERY risky. But at the same time, it could be a stroke of brilliance. I'm thinking that he would send out feelers to see if they would agree (I'm sure they would anyway), so as to not risk public humiliation of a rejection... Do it behind the scenes.

I agree with you. That was a TERRIFIC rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner that they did. Can't remember where it was, but I do remember being very impressed.
I hope that the Chicks can get wise, and get straight with their fans. But continued cluelessness and inability to understand their core of (former) fans will not get them there.
