New York If one off-hand remark got The Dixie Chicks international response, imagine the buzz that will come after Friday's one-hour exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer. Natalie Maines, Emily Erwin and Martie Seidel will be the sole guests on a special edition of "Primetime," on ABC Friday night.
Meanwhile, despite the supposed outcry, people are snapping up Dixie Chick concert tickets. Their agent, Rob Light, tells Billboard that despite some backlash at radio and retail after that "we're embarrassed he's from Texas" comment about President Bush, the Dixie Chicks are flying high. Light says that of 59 shows, only six have seats left, and those are all 85-90% sold-out.
The Chicks' tour kicks off May 1 in Greenville, South Carolina, and concludes August 4 in Nashville.

There is another concert in the same area that night taking Dixie Chicks tickets..sponsored across the country by the Gallagher show - Conservative radio talk-show host Mike Gallagher, based in South Carolina, has organized an alternative show for the night of May 1, the opening night of the US leg of the Dixie Chicks' Top of the World tour. Veteran Southern country-rock act The Marshall Tucker Band will perform a show at the Spartanburg (S.C.) Memorial Auditorium at the same time as the Dixie Chicks' sold-out show in nearby Greenville. The show is being hailed as an ati-Chicks rally. Donations of food and clothing will be taken at the door and will go to military families, as well as all proceeds from the show. Anyone who shows a Dixie Chicks ticket at the door will receive free admission.

Dixie chicks need to remember that they are country entertainers.Nothing more. They need to shut up about politics and sing country songs. No one really cares what they feel about politics because they have no grounds to make logical assumptions. They need to find a cave somewhere far far away and stay in hybernation forever.
I tired of these celebrities using the media as a battle ground. They truly have forgotton what being an American is all About!

The problem is not idiot celebs, academics, pols, moonbats, ect, it is the massive monopoly that the leftwing has on all forms of media.
If Clinton were Pres, you would hear NONE of this, there would be ZERO promotion, no Conservative like Michael Moore or any celeb would be given the cover of Time mag, People mag, or network interviews. If they got ANY attention it would be mocking.

Singer and actress Reba McEntire took a dig at the Chicks while hosting Tuesdays Country Music Awards.
If the Dixie Chicks can sing with their foot in their mouths, surely I can host this sucker, she said.
Her joke got the largest applause of the night.
The reason for Reba's remark:
Johnson of WKML said the Chicks themselves are responsible for much of the ill will. He pointed to a Time magazine interview in which Maines said she did not want fans that had Toby Keith and McEntire in their CD changers to also have the Dixie Chicks. (not Reba's exact words as quoted by Johnson, but pretty close)
Thats pretty arrogant, he said. Why take a fan and tell him that?
