But I would say Kid Rock has an appreciation of classic country artists (i.e. Hank & David Allen Coe), as he refers to these artists in "American Bad Ass." And there is an occasional country sounding rif in his songs. Assuming your 16 y/o son does not listen to country music, these references & rifs may go over his head.

You shouldn't be. The Beastie Bitchboys are just another in a long line of (c)rap acts that has to steal what others have done before them, otherwise they'd never have any ideas. Hip-hop/(c)rap is another fine example of what H.L. Mencken meant when he said no one ever went broke underestimating the tastes of the American public.
