Ick is right on Celine's new 'do. I did read a blurb on it somewhere, it's her dramatic new look for her dramatic new Vegas show.

While the cut is not the best, it's the COLOR that is absolutely atrocious! I think the designer for the Cirque did the costumes.

Looks like hubby's still rolling the dice.
Good grief Celine - buy a mirror or something.

Great quote.
Germany never wants to go to war unless she starts it.

I think that they hair ages her by 20 years.
She has a face that really needs long hair as a distraction.

I heard a bit of gossip and I knew just where to post it.
On Entertainment Tonight tonight, 3/26/03, they quoted a tabloid that is reporting the break-up of Chelsea and Ian. Is this new or am I behind? Anyway, they said the paper said she was spotted in Iceland (is she ever at Oxford?) with a new guy. Spotted at a pub where she had a "few drinks and seemed to be having a good time". That is all I know, and no link.

It's always been my dream to sing while a Dr. Seuss character dances in front of me.

The rumor is that Chels 'n' Ian are kaput, and she's been dating a tuna heir (there must be a joke in there somewhere, but I'll leave that to Fintan).

It's interesting to hear what the troops really want in their care packages, e.g., Q-Tips, baby wipes, etc. A friend whose son is with the USAF in Kuwait asked his mom to send a can of Bush's baked beans. It seems our soldiers in the Middle East aren't allowed to have pork, so as not to offend their "hosts," and this young man is really craving some pork 'n beans!

Asked if he's pro-war, Dennis Miller told us: "Pro-war is a bit simplistic. I'm pro my commander in chief and the troops. I've never felt more proud and patriotic." As for Michael Moore's Oscar speech, Miller said: "We live in a country that's so great that it guarantees Michael Moore's right to be that wrong." But Miller lightened up when he told the crowd, "We're now buying energy at minibar prices."

IF you're planning to see any of Celine Dion's shows at the new 4,000-seat Coliseum - built for her by Caesars Palace in Las Vegas - wear a bathing suit. Attendees at sneak previews are complaining that the $95 million venue is super-heated and as humid as a swamp. "Don't go after a big dinner, or you'll fall asleep," one sweaty patron told the Las Vegas Review Journal. The diva has ordered that the Coliseum be kept nice and steamy with special misting machines, so that the dry desert climate doesn't give her "Vegas Throat." Page Six
Clinton watch:
Former President Bill Clinton in Iowa City spoke to a sold-out crowd at Carver Hawkeye Arena. He talked to thousands of Eastern Iowans about global security in the 21st century and threw his support toward the American troops fighting the war in Iraq.At one point, a heckler yelled at Mr. Clinton saying, "What did you ever do about Rwanda?" And Clinton responded by saying..."not enough," adding he's since apologized to the leaders and people of Rwanda. kwwl
---------------------
It wasn't the title given to former President Bill Clintons speech. But the war with Iraq was sure to come up when he spoke in Iowa city tonight. One month ago, Clinton accepted an invitation to be part of the university of Iowas distinguished lecture series and all seats at Carver-Hawkeye Arena were full for tonight's event.
The formal title was "global security in the 21st century." Clinton did focus on the importance of building an integrated global community. He outlined five ways in order to reach that goal...even suggesting three books everyone should read. But it would've been difficult to discuss global relations without focusing attention on the situation in the Middle East.
Knowing what was on the mind of many former President Clinton immediately addressed the war with Iraq and the important of supporting our troops. Clinton believes that as a global community we must develop a strategy to limit the production of chemical, nuclear and biological weapons. [So why didn't he between 1993-2000?] However he disagrees with the idea of achieving that by linking Saddam Hussein to 9-11.
Clinton acknowledged the issue of Iraq has created division within our country and our global community, but he stressed this is the situation we're in. Clinton did answer some pre-screened questions from the audience, most of them dealing with international issues. But, he ended his speech tonight by saying we must continue working for a world in which there is no them, only us. [We are the world, we are the children...]
The former president did make an un-expected stop prior to tonight's speaking engagement. Managers and customers at the Hamburg inn restaurant in Iowa City were surprised, yet excited when the high- profile guest came in. We're told Mr. Clinton had a milkshake. Former president Ronald Reagan also ate at the same restaurant when he visited eastern Iowa in 1992. KCRG

I'm watching fox and friends and they are having the morning press conference at Centcom.
Reporter: No disrespect intended but why are we not briefed by people of higher rank and the briefing they are getting isn't much different than that at the pentagon why should we continue to show up for the press conferences. (applause from the reporters).
Brd. Gen Vincent Brooks: Well first it's your choice to come here. Second, the the Generals are too busy fighting the war that's why they sent him.
Other stupid question..."how come it takes so long for us to get the names of the missing or killed soldiers?" Brooks: The family gets notified first.
Reporters get dumber as the war goes on

As luck would have it, I have a whole pantry full of Bush's Baked Beans. There were big sales on them last summer and I stocked up.
The only problem is the cost of the shipping. They are super heavy. I will stick a couple of cans in with our shipment tomorrow.

I hadn't heard officially of the breakup, but yeah, I think Chels and Ian are history. Apparently Chels doesn't need to be at Oxford now until she graduates, and she has a spiffy 6 figure job in NYC.

Stupid reporters. I'm sitting here with my mouth open, I can't believe their stupidity and self-centeredness. I think a few of them need to be embedded with the troops.
