Before or after Sheryl is on TV during the Grammy Awards, some of those people will be back. You know them, they have flames and hate because they misunderstand or are too narrow minded to want to understand some of the statements Sheryl has made, or remember the message t-shirts she's worn. They might also forget that questioning your government is a fundamental right of any citizen, and that question or lack of support for a policy or action is against that government.I would ask you, as a favor, please, to leave the really bad posts alone. I will deal with them. Some of the people who caused trouble before might come back for more and find their log-in name no longer exists. These people want to start problems, want to see the forum disrupted, and generally come in for one post or for one day, and then vanish. They think Sheryl will see what has been written here and it will affect her somehow.
That's different, of course, than someone who comes in and disagrees with what Sheryl has said or done, or what the US, the UN, or another country has said or done, or what is going on in the world in general. If they stick within the guidelines, I'll usually leave it up. If you have the patience and want to try to educate them and can stay within the guidelines, go for it. Unfortunately, I've had a few users make it impossible for a thread to stay up, and if you started a thread that turned sour, sorry, it happens sometimes.
If you have to comment on the flaming hatred threads, and I wish you wouldn't, reply with facts only. Don't speculate and don't call names.
It's been very difficult to get the flames and hatred off this site. If you spot something that doesn't meet the guidelines, especially if it's in one of the established threads, please let me know. I suspect I'll be very busy Sunday and Monday.
For our visitors, Sheryl has made a statement in December on her feelings, and you can read it here.
Thanks.
- Gregg.
