"Sounds of silence" may be appropriate for this awards protest. It's largely been in the form of silent protest (slogans written on hands, guitar straps, possibly clothing). Fred Durst/Limp Biskits spoke out, some others may have.

It looks like since they don't want the artists to protest the war, they're making a statement by protesting being entertaining tonight.

I think the orders went down that all protest were of to be non speechmaking type of mentions and that Durst was the only one who didnt play ball.

so far I have seen Sheryl with her guitar strap and limp diskit with his comment , BOnnie rait with her peace comment, and possibly coldplay with something we weren't able to detect

I am pretty shocked over the lack of rebellion
