BB King was just asked about political comments during the war and he said "I think that there are going to be alot of things said tonight that I don't agree with."
Way to go B.B!

No Gibb or Tito Puente, they got their own segments...
But what about JOHNNY PAYCHECK!?!

I usually don't watch the Grammy's but this hasn't been too bad.
We must thank Viacom for making everybody shut the hell up about peace.

I wonder if she'll have a guitar strap next year with "I'm Sorry" on it? That is if she's still around after relying on only peaceniks to buy her music.

"The Jefferson Airplane ripped off "their" 2 best songs from Darby Slick and the Great Society. Not an award worthy band in my mind."

YoYo Ma rules!

Anyone care to comment on "London Calling ..." Unfortunately, one of the worst songs on that album. But the Clash at it's worse is still better than others at their best. :)

One of the most pretentious albums of the '80s:
The Clash's SANDINISTA... also, an embarassment considering how the vaunted Sandinista turned out...
To: BunnySlippers
"Sounds of silence" may be appropriate for this awards protest. It's largely been in the form of silent protest (slogans written on hands, guitar straps, possibly clothing). Fred Durst/Limp Biskits spoke out, some others may have.

I wouldn't argue with Lather, but I could have lived without Miracles. I think Surrealistic Pillow was their best. At least I did when I was on acid.

Yo Yo and James were excellent. I saw them just before Oz. Simon and Garfunkel weren't nearly as good. Art is getting old.

The applause for the dead people seemed to come from a younger crowd. Dee Dee Ramone and Joe Strummer got applause. Jam Master Jay and Lisa Lopez got applause.
Little recognition for life long Republican Lionel Hampton (and he was active with the party at least through 1992).
