Today, Secretary Powell will brief the UN Security Council regarding American intelligence that will show Iraq is not complying with UN requirements, intelligence the Iraqis say is fabricated.

In hearings on Capitol Hill, lawmakers were told by Administration officials that North Korea might sell fissile material, possibly complete Bombs, to other entities to raise cash.

Hans Blix told Iraqi officials that, while a date certain for military action has not been set, it is "five minutes till midnight," and the Iraqis had better start turning up information on arms production.

Last November, Saudi Arabia quietly provided a passport and transport to remove a woman from the United States who was supposed to have testified to a grand jury about her husbands terrorist connections.

NASA was warned nine years ago the shuttle could catostrophically fail if debris hit the vital underside area of the craft - the very scenario that is the leading idea being investigated now. NASA made some changes to the fuel tank design, but has noted the foam always "has been a pain."

And in Los Angeles, a city council meeting, which was the last for three council members who were recalled, got out of control. An amateur video has footage of the mayor clocking one of the council members with her handbag, followed by a punch.

I hope everyone here realizes the import of this statement.

Powell just told the UN Security Council they are irrelevent. IOW, they can choose to authorize an attack on Iraq, or they can sit on the side, but...

The United States is free to act on Iraq under the Self Defense clause of the UN charter insofar as Al Qa'eda attacked us on September 11, 2001, and that a state of hostilities is authorized by the United States Congress.

This event alone places Iraq squarely in the cross hairs. All the UNSC can do is acknowledge a fait accompli.

Moreover, it places France in the extraordinarily awkward position of having to deal with the President's dictate in his speech to the Joint Session - "All Nations will have a choice to make; either they are with us, or they are with the terrorists."

President Chirac - it is time to show your hand. The United States "calls."

Last night on Fox News it was reported by Mansour Ijaz that the French have discovered terror cells within that country, but withheld critical info from the US and the War on Terror On its own this is a huge breach between 2 erstwhile allies...

Folks - remember there were people who said when we rebuild the World Trade Center in New York, it should be done with the philosophy of "one brick higher" as a statement of defiance to the terrorists?

Two ideas have been selected as finalists in the design of the successor structure.

EITHER plan would result in the building of the world's tallest structure. [The only difference is to what degree.]

I had to watch it on regular TV. Peter Jennings makes me appreciate Dan Blather. What a sneering dimwit. Reporters from CBS and NBC(I switched off ABC when Jennings started his ranting) now saying that war is likely after the 15th. My guess is 2 weeks from today.
