Frank N. Stein is a disrupter. He runs around to different threads asking people why they are bothering to discuss such "banal" subjects. The question is why does he even bother. Answer, it's the attention we give him that he loves.

I don't watch the shallow 6pm local news with Hank and Kathy. I *DO* however watch FOX news...especially Hannity and Colmes. Much better than your beloved Simpsons. I also derive my current events from this great site, Free Republic.

You come on this thread to disrupt, bash, and otherwise sneer at folks following this story. You act as a troll.

His attempts at intelligent discussion were rather short lived...especially when The Simpson's came up. :o)

Your contributions to the Peterson threads are rich and thought provoking, D. Thank you.

Sheesh I caused a huge reaction. Trying to wrap things up:

[Devil_Anse] This is the perfect place for you guys to show off your, um, intelligence. Yeah, that's it--your intelligence.

I'm confused, so you think that by asking who Scott Peterson was, getting defensive non-responses, and pursuing the question, I was "showing off my intelligence"?

[vikingchick, to wizzler] According to you, we can only discuss a situation if a player is determined to be famous?

I'll field that, since I was the one who originally asked. The answer is "no, discuss whatever you want". I just wondered why the national attention and wondered who Scott Peterson was, whether he was someone famous. Now I know it's just a "true crime" story. That's ok with me, discuss all you want, knock yourself out.

[homeschool mama] If you choose to not consider it important to seek information and ultimately justice then move on.

I didn't even say I don't consider it important (except, perhaps, relative to certain other topics such as war). Obviously a missing persons case and possible murder are important. I just wondered who Scott Peterson was. I figured he might be some actor and felt dumb for not knowing.

[hoosierskypilot] We're reading this thread because we've been following this story of a missing pregnant woman in Modesto, CA.

Thanks, although this was explained to me (eventually).

[cont'd] Since you don't have a clue as to what's going on, then you're reading it because you have way too much time on your hands.

Perhaps. Or perhaps I just happened to click on a thread whose title made me curious (like I said); does clicking on an FR thread whose subject is unfamiliar to you indicate you have "too much time on your hands"? Guilty as charged, I suppose. (Many, many times over.)

Then I made the mistake of asking who Scott Peterson was; my mistake, won't happen again. I do appreciate the irony involved in someone taking the time out to post only that I have "too much time on my hands", though.

[blondee123] Instead of asking a million questions, if you're really concerned or interested, why not visit her site.

Thanks blondee123, that's a very good suggestion. If someone had told me this from the beginning (instead of barraging me with the weirdly defensive, evasive posts I actually got) I wouldn't have had to ask a million questions, would I? :)

[Devil_Anse to homeschool mama] Only the most mature of minds are comfortable with the subtle humor of The Simpsons. My 8-year-old son told me so, [bla]

This anti-Simpsons stuff is really weird. What you two seem to be saying is that you'd be more impressed with me if I watched more television. Which programs must I watch to increase my stature in your eyes? American Idol? Survivor? Entertainment Tonight? Let me know.

I didn't mention Simpsons because I thought it was the epitome of human brilliance. I do think it's a good program, and obviously you disagree (so what's better? Jerry Springer? I'm still curious), but my only real point was that I don't watch very many television programs. Which, to you guys, apparently makes me dumb. Or something.

[Devil_Anse cont'd] (how many times do some people need to hear the same explanation?)

You know, once would have been sufficient. That's not what I got; look at the initial replies to me. Defensiveness, and very little information.

[Doc Savage chimes in to homeschool mama] Frank N. Stein is a disrupter. He runs around to different threads asking people why they are bothering to discuss such "banal" subjects.

Really? Surely you can give examples of all the other threads in which I've done this.

[homeschool mama] I *DO* however watch FOX news...especially Hannity and Colmes. Much better than your beloved Simpsons.

I don't subscribe to cable television. (sniff) So I can't possibly watch the Hannity & Colmes show (occasionally I do catch Hannity on the radio). Sorry. What a lame-o I am. You're right, subscribing to cable television indicates that you are smarter and have better taste than I. I concede.

Now look, I hope this puts everything to rest. I really have no problem with discussion of this Peterson case. I just wondered who Scott Peterson was. I'm sorry this struck such a raw nerve in so many people. Please continue and I hope they find Laci alive and well. Best,

For someone who thought this thread was ridiculous you sure have spent a considerable amount of time on it.

You've twisted words, comments and intentions on this thread. It was explained to you time and again why the thread was up and running. You were quite arrogant at one point.

Don't even try to weasel your way out, Frank. You're a disruptor and aren't worth further energy from me or anyone else.

Now sit down and eat your peas. They're getting cold.

Humorously, the disruptor's question was answered a mere TWO POSTS after he posted it. He must have missed it in his eagerness to inundate this thread with doe-eyed, passive-aggressive little barbs.

The answer was not altogether accurate in a legal sense, but it was enough of an answer that perhaps an intelligent fourth-grader would have known to go to yahoo or google and plug in one of the names.

Wonder why the title is "Dr." A medical doctorate, a doctor of philosophy---or perhaps some new doctorate which is not yet known to science?

Scott, can you BELIEVE there are people out there who still don't know who you are? What the heck are you paying your PR people for, anyway??

Thanks! Same to you!

Well, it occurs to me that we can at least post in peace while "The Simpsons" is on. Okay, everyone, get out your TV schedules! As soon as I hear the Simpsons theme music come on, I'll give the signal!

We got put in "chit chat" for that thread. But you were busy today, Howlin.

Nothing new, just that Scott's mom says Laci "can pick out any brand new car she wants when she comes home". So basically, Scott did Laci a favor by getting rid of her worn-out, old SUV, because she told the family when they were in Carmel that she wanted a "new" car.

What a guy!

Well, I'm glad you found your way back, lol! The ping list is the only thing leading me to these articles and threads, which I really want to read. I am very bad at finding articles that are placed in "Chat."

If you get lost, Howlin, you can always do a search under one of our names--you know where we'll be!
