We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail![President Bush]
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Jimmy Carter says that President Bush has not made the case for war.
The United States and Great Britain, according to British dispatches, have given Iraq six more weeks - time that will be used to convince skeptical Arab countries and France to get on board for military action.
Satellite pictures indicate activity at the Yongbyon nuclear facility in North Korea showed that state may be about ready to produce plutonium for nuclear weapons.
And President Bush has signed a directive, the Washington Times is reporting, that allows nuclear weapons to be used in response to biological or chemical attacks.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.
We all have friends, relatives who work at the Cape, at Kennedy Space Center.
But truthfully, those of us who've lived here for a while have almost accepted shuttle missions as commonplace....
...I almost didn't walk outside my front door 17 days ago, and watch it lift off.
...I went because hubby called & said it was a.. 'go'...
..sadly & truly, I didn't even know their names....and my pastor admitted this AM, after the service, he didn't know their names 17 days ago, either.
I think that's why he made a point of solemnly & slowly reading each name --of the 7--today before prayer.
He was really touched by this, as we all are.....and even used it in the children's sermon.
Scripture for today's sermon had been chosen days ago.....but it was so applicable to what we're experiencing, it had to be divine guidance.
Scripture was from II Corinthians 4:6-18
verse 8 starts with...We are hard pressed on every side,
but not crushed;
perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted,
but not abandoned;
struck down, but not destroyed.
and ends with verse 18..So we fix our eyes not on what is seen,
but on what is unseen.
For what it seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal...
And then pastor went on to say, as he did in the children's sermon.....we do not know our hour....we do not know when one of us will get that phone call that someone we know & love is....gone.
We do not know the spritual lives of those 7.....we can only hope they were ready to meet the Lord.
I'll be leaving in a few minutes to go to Cape Canaveral Hospital....
The little mother from church, the one with 5 children & is tending to her terminally ill mother-in-law....
..she gave birth this morning to a healthy baby boy...named Noah Mathias.
Pastor announced the news joyfully.
I'm looking forward to seeing little Noah :)
The local guys are predicting anywhere from 2 to 9 inches.I think they're so excited to finally have something to predict besides "partly cloudy", they're going way overboard.
Snow in your future huh??
I just pinged you to something really cool.:)
Always.
The criteria for "Winter Storm" includes, among other things, snowfall of at least four inches.
Since the upper range of the anticipated snowfall hits the four inch threshold, it qualifies for a Winter Storm Warning.
With all the best intentions in the world, I have still not read Charles Sheldon's In His Steps, the book which spawned "What Would Jesus Do?". So today I perused the last chapter of the book (it's available online here), a chapter titled "Walking obediently In His Steps." It seems to sort of summarize the message of the book.
I certainly like and agree with Sheldon's call for a radical obedience to Christ. A life of complete obedience to Christ probably looks very different than what we've gotten used to seeing.
But I have a suspicion that Sheldon himself was kind of a liberal. I'm not just sure when he lived and wrote that book (1950s?), but from the questions he asks, he doesn't sound like a conservative to me.
Have you read the book? If so, I wonder if you found yourself wondering about his politics.
We had good news yesterday. Our daughter who was diagnosed with amblyopia in November had another check-up with the optometrist. Her corrected vision has gone from 20/100 in her weak eye to 20/40. At least for the next 6 weeks, she does not have to wear the eye patch and that was great news for her. The doctor was very pleased with her progress.
Free Republic scooped AP by 11 minutes on breaking the shuttle news.......
Apparently the committee that got to define terms such as "winter storm warning" did not include a strong representation of people from northern Wisconsin.
Dear Dog
Stop flaming Moderators even if they call ATRW a chat thread in General Interest.
That is all...
Many said they would check out FR.
BTW - I made 70 business cards to highlight FR and ATRW. Distributed 54 of them at CPAC, particularly to college kids.
