Oh, thank you for making me laugh, Nicollo. Great stories.
I'm sure you're right about what's going on in Malaysia. I lived in China for 7 years and had to weather a few times of deep unrest and anti-Americanism. (To be very honest, I was a liberal and fairly anti-American myself when I first went, but that quickly passed.) I look at it this way: if the relationship upon which we are working is going to go awry over political stuff, it's really not worth it.
In the end, people and countries hang onto the things that are important to them. Despite all the criticism, we do have a lot to offer and doors will not easily or quickly shut to us or to our allies.

Thanks for the Christopher Hitchens link. I had read that early this morning and almost linked it myself. It's interesting to follow that guy and I really wonder just where he's going to end up politically.

I used to see his brother, Peter, on C-SPAN...back in the early 90s he was a correspondent here for the Telegraph ? Not sure, but Peter is a conservative! Plus they came from a Naval family...

I am a little weezy myself this afternoon, maybe it is just a case of the worn outs from having to supervise s-i-l so much on the kitchen counters. Got a nagging headach, woozy (note, different for weezy), and really just want to go to bed. In fact, think I will do just that and check in later.

I give a classmate a ride from school to a train station near my house, to reduce his wait on a bus by a couple of hours. He's a minority, a former marine, and rabidly liberal. He scams the system.
He tried to pull the a) they don't have WMD and b)if we attack, they'll use the WMD on our troops. I called him on it. LOL! He was very quiet the rest of the way home.

Evening folks. Neets, thanks for starting.
I have the snacks all set in for the State of the Union Show.

Great advice. I've printed out both Colin Powell's response to Blix's report, the report, and Blix's UN comments. I also have this statistic from Ari Fleischer:
Inspectors have been in Iraq for eight weeks and have found just 16 of the 30,000 chemical warheads and chemical munitions in its possession at the end of the 1990s, as reported by the United Nations. At the pace that Iraq is cooperating with the inspectors, it will take the inspectors another almost 300 years to find the remaining weapons the United Nations says Saddam Hussein possesses.
I emailed the URLs, President Bush's speech to the UN six months ago (where he details how Iraq has broken the 16 UN resolutions) and the quotes to my hippie friend, her comeback was "Can't we give peace more time? It is worth so much not to have war against innocent lives and children." So I emailed her back that information about the torture that goes on in Iraq. Haven't heard back from her yet. Of course, this is the woman who thinks that we shouldn't have intervened against Hitler during WWII, if we would have had all the information about the extermination of the Jews. What is that quote? "There are none so blind as those who will not see." Something along those lines.

Eldest daughter just called and said that my younger daughter's mastif/rottie mix is having seisures. Younger has no money for a vet.
Elder and I are going to split the cost to find out what is wrong and see what the cost is. Younger wanted me to come out and put him down. She got over-ruled.
Elder would scam me for every penny that she could get (if I would let her), younger won't ask for help if the world ends. Sheesh, kids.

My back feels great, 100% better. By last night there was no problem and that helped me sleep really well. Today there's only a slight twinge if I twist all the way from side to side, but otherwise no trace of pain or anything.
I'm sure you don't want to hear about it, but I had a horrible day. I now see little chance of getting a full-time job teaching at this school I've been helping to promote. I'm feeling a lot of inner turmoil over a misunderstanding today and frankly I'm quite upset over some things. But the good thing is that last night we had an extended prayer time about my job situation and I think God has something else in mind.
In our prayer time last night, my wife and I spoke very little and mostly listened and wrote down what we felt the Lord was bringing to mind. Nothing was crystal clear, but we both felt that He's downplaying this opportunity which I have been so fixated on for a while now.

Hi John. How are you feeling today? I intended to ask this morning, but forgot to.
Sorry to hear about the dog problem. Or is it more of a children problem between older and younger? :-)
I have determined that the weird behavior in my dogs is extreme jealousy. I had Shadow out in the pasture all day. Didn't have any problem getting to go in, but he wanted to come out when he saw me leaving and then when I came home. Instead I just went out to see them and both were fighting each other off and trying to get my full attention. I played fetch with Shadow, his favorite activity, and Maggie tried to join in although she doesn't know what she's doing. The one time she got the ball, she wouldn't let us near it for a while.
I'd still like them to be best buddies and to live together. Being together isn't much of a problem, unless I'm around. I may leave them together for a few nights and make them work it out. Bringing him in at night probably makes it worse if anything.

I'd still like them to be best buddies and to live together. Give them 21 days, and they should be buddies. I've only had one situation where two dogs couldn't get along after several months.
The dog that had the problem wound up getting punched in the face by me because she attacked me when I accidentally woke her up and startled her. She was a problem dog from the beginning.

I am planning to call Lonny's widow tonight. Feeling a bit nervous about that. I may also call Lonny's best friend, a guy I went through school and Sunday School with since 1st grade. I heard he had a really hard time at the funeral. I haven't talked to him for a few years, but think I might be able to help by talking with him.

That's encouraging. I think making them stay together is the best thing, don't you?
