I have visited this over the last 5 years on a daily basis and look to it as my main source of information, these days. My daughter is Leigh Nash lead singer for an incredibly successful, cutting-edge band that crossed over from Christian music to mainstream music. She is very conservative and the band has turned down some Democratic functions. They last played at the Gov. Rick Perry's (Texas) inaguration along with Robert Earl Keen and Clay Walker. Their music is very deep and spirtual based upon the works of C.S. Lewis, Thomas Merton, and occasionally a Socialist such as Pedro Neruda (forgive them please, for their naivate as they are all under 30). However, my daugher has many opportunities and is quite willing to express the conservative view point as she has been interviewed by David Letterman - where she changed the subject to a discussion of C.S. Lewis and the derivation of the name of the band. A simply incredible moment that I will never forget. The band has an huge fan base of people of various ilks, etc.; however, they also are targeted as are other "Christian bands" and even more so due to their high profile as having had a number one hit (Kiss Me)and a new album (44 out of 39 reviews on amazon.com are 5 stars)with unworldly lyrics that are so timely. From time to time, I would like to solicit your suggestions on certain topics with an effort to make the comments concise so that they can work for Leigh in her opportunities for sound bites, etc. The band was on Jay Leno a couple of months ago and will be on David Letterman this March.

No offense at all. I used to get her forwarded fan e-mail when she was touring. There are some very, very kinky guys out there (older ones especially).

Actually, they always just wanted to be known as "Christians in a band" as so their music would not be prejudged and limited by the label of Christian band. They, of course, have a big following in CCM with their new album, Divine Discontent, recently receiving a Dove Award nomination (Christian music grammys) as best album of the year.

yeah right, what?

My daughter is very intelligent and fast on her feet; however, she, like many of her peers, are deficient in a historical perspective and are products of public education. My older daughter is a CPA with a masters degree; however, Leigh is a born musician who just has a high school degree (a plus as she has not been indoctrinated at the college level).

Old Don-o, why are you suspicious of my bona fides. Tell me what I have said to make you suspicious. Also, I did not post the picture of my daughter.
To: formershyfatboy
Ok. Made a mistake, you did not post pic of daughter.

Lyrics for There She Goes, originally by the Las, recorded by Sixpence.
here she goes
There she goes again
Racing through my brain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes again
Pulsing through my veins
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes again
Racing through my brain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes again
She calls my name,
Pulls my train
No one else could heal my pain
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes again
Chasing down my lane
And I just can't contain
This feeling that remains
There she goes
There she goes
There she goes

According to amazon.co.uk
"There She Goes" is the loveliest smack ode since the Strangler's "Golden Brown".

My daughter s..t when she heard that it was about heroin; however, maybe the LA's publicity people were overly effective with the rumor. My daughter's band has turned down programs that wanted to play Kiss Me (and other songs) that they considered too riske for their tastes.

Good for her.
Lots of Christians Bands have to go to the other side to make money, I hope your daughter keeps her Christian Values, it seems she is and you are doing a good job as a Father.
Keep on keeping on my fren....

It was written by the Las. They're from the UK. It IS about heroin. Just google it.

IIRC, when the song came out years ago, MTV asked her about it, and she hemmed and hawed. This was years ago, when MTV played videos.
Your daughter is most likely about 30 now I think.

Old Don-o, why are you suspicious of my bona fides. Instinct, my man. Instinct.
Basically, because I am a father, and I would not think of coming to the internet for advice of any sort on how to deal with family matters. Maybe on some forums that is done; but not here.
If this is not a fraud, it is just sad. A man needs real friends to deal with such as this.

Well, to be utterly truthful, the band isn't really on the map anymore. MTV hasn't reported on them since 2000, and with the way the music industry is...even No Doubt did extremely poor when they released their last cd. And Gwen Stefani has a very high profile....I don't think SNTR is going to do very well in today's market. Their time came and went. The heroin song gave them their start (again, weird for a Xtian band to do that). Then they did the song "Kiss Me", which was a big hit, but that was years ago. I don't think they have *legs* in the industry anymore.
To: formershyfatboy
screw you Well, there we have a fine Christian response.
