Don't say we didn't warn you! Spoilers are what this thread is all about. So bring your rumors (substantiated or not!), spoilers, spy reports, and bones of contention about them here as the snippets of RoTK news, photos and interviews come rolling in.

I wouldn't even recommend pinging people to this thread unless you know they want to see them. There are a lot of purists out there that hate to have anything given away before the movie comes out. I, however, am not one of those.

I will start a "RoTK spoilers ping list" separate from the other Tolkien ping lists… so let me know if you want to be on the spoiler alert list!" If we use this thread for that kind of stuff, we won't shock people who don't want to see it. (though I bet they look anyway!)

One tip….. Don't embed images from TORN (TheOneRing.Net) on this thread. If possible, load the image to another server, or just post a link to the TORN page. TORN's servers are powered by fleas I think, and are horrendously slow, particularly when they have something that is particularly good!

Oh yeah!!! What I am looking to see is when the sunlight hits the White Tower as they approach. If Jackson's SFX hold true, it should be quite a stunning moment.

Everyone is already freaked out about Shelob, but Im thinking I am glad its not a blob of protein that moves (ie caterpillar)...spiders make "sense" in their design.

I am a member of a small group of people who are discussing The Return of the King on another board due to the fact that opening night is quickly approaching, and am wondering if any of you FReepers who are also LOTR fans might be interested in joining us there. We just started the book a couple of weeks ago and are only on Chapter Three (The Muster of Rohan) right now. Discussion can include previous chapters as well as the one we are currently talking about. We are covering approximately one chapter a week and welcome any and all participation. I don't know or care what their gonna do in ROTK.

All I know is I am gonna see it three times at least, then salivate until the extended DVD comes out.

Then one day I'm gonna sit down with a gallon of coffee and watch all three extended DVD's back to back. And then I will voice my opinion of the film(s).

NEWS FROM TORN: (A lot of it doesn't make any sense, but you'll glean the gist of it.

ROTK Trailer & Poster News!

This bit of news was first spotted on DarkHorizons, however people are sending this to me from various sources. The folks from 'Secondhand Lions' did contact me recently to confirm this bit of news in regards to the trailer, so who knows!

Return of the King media release schedule:

Teaser Poster - First of a series of characters posters is supposed to start in middle of June. The first of them will be Aragorn. Then approximately monthly begin to occur the working posters with other characters. The cinemas will or replace already hanging posters with everyone by subsequent creative, or, that is more probable, will collect all collection down to autumn."

Teaser Trailer - The short trailer prepares for start in middle of the summer. From the point of view of general campaign of representation of film it is important, that it differed from impression made by a working trailer of "Two Towers".

Final Poster - Idea in connecting all teasers together and to connect them in a final one-sheet, which will appear at the end of autumn. On the final poster there will be not so many characters, as it was on last poster of "Two Towers"

Final Trailer - Full-length final trailer with special effects for the first time will appear in September pasted to copies of "Secondhand Lions"

It would be nice to have a date to shoot for. If this is true it's so unfair!!!

Maybe I'm missing something here, is secondhand lions a movie? Does anyone know when it is coming out?
I'm thinking maybe there might be a rotk trailer with pirates of the carribean. Only because Orlando is in both.
I'm not going to see it unless there is a rotk trailer.

I will probably go to see Pirates... and you are right that it would be a good match to put the RoTK trailer with that! Thinking Secondhand Lions must be a movie.... not heard of it either. It doesn't really matter because the trailers will be posted to the official site for download anyhow.

I just wish they'd get with it!

i used the sepia colored shot of aragorn on horseback (the one you started the thread with) in a presentation for a grad level class in systems consulting in organizations. (it made sense, trust me)

when that pic popped up, about 4' tall on the screen, there was a collective "ooooh" from the women in the class - a bunch of lefties who'd probably never admit that they looked at men that way.
