If you're moving to Houston, you want to live near your employer in order to minimize the commute. If you have children, you also have to consider the school district.

If possible, try to live outside the Houston city limits. The tax savings are enormous.

While we have kids, 1 1/2 currently, the school considerations are not a problem. We're going to homeschool rather than use public school.
