My hubby just thanked me for baking cookies today. In turn, I thanked him for making the bed this morning, doing the laundry, and cleaning up the kitchen after the delicious honey baked ham dinner I prepared for tonight's dinner.

Successful Bachelor's chore list:
Leave key for girlfriend to clean home.
Eat in, and MAYBE help girlfriend with dishes.
Remind other girlfriend to pick up laundry after driving me to airport.
You underachiever, you.

Woman are oppressed by marrige, don't you know, I was amrried for 27 years and neither of my kid speak to their mother. My daughter had a breakdown when she had her kids because her mother wasn't there to help and support her when she needed her, it is about money and it is about love, so get off of my case.

Sheesh, I wouldn't ask someone who was divorced what it takes to make a successful marriage...
That's a good point.
When I think about it, I can't finger anyone I know personally as being completely unbiased and honest when discussing their past, failed relationship.
So why go there to collect data? I would be much more interested in the success stories than in the failures.

Hmmm.... well, like my greatgrandfather once said -
"Chad, the mistake we made was not in putting shoes on them or in teaching them to read - we should never have taught them to talk!";0)

I'm not your typical female housewife... I can't cook anything but baked chicken and popcorn....
I'm not very good at keeping house except maybe the bathrooms...
I couldn't even tell you which dials do what on the stove...
My husband loves me though... and for that I am grateful...

LOL!
I made a joke once and told a girl: "You know, keep talking like that and we'll have to take back the vote.."
Don't ever say that.. Not even in teasing.
Ever..

Most of the women my age (mid-20s) are not desirable to me. A large number of them are complete morons, the rest seem to be golddiggers. I don't need sex bad enough to submit myself to such torture.

There have been times when I've wondered about this whole marriage thing; but, those doubts pass when I sit and think about what my single life was like.My parents had far from a perfect marriage, but they toughed it out for 48 years. Mom died in early 1992, dad died ten months later.
There's a reason the surviving spouse just decides to die.
He doesn't want to go through that whole "single again" nonsense.

Why not? This country went to hell in a handbasket as soon as we let them vote...

Don't ever say that.. Not even in teasing. Ever.. And if you ever tell her you've had it, and you're outta here, don't turn your back on her and walk away slowly...

Been there, done that... I must admit, I enjoyed the three-days of silence... a lot... ;0)

Well, the Bond movie is over, Roger Moore has departed, and I now can listen to Fox. They are discussing North Korea and talking about the 5 Muslims who sneaked into the country. I am off to check other threads, and hubby has gone to bed, reminding me that I need to turn off the Christmas lights.
Life is pretty good, since I am up on the computer, everyone is fed, laundry is done, and the dog is snoring at my feet. I have no real complaints, although if I see Roger Moore in an airport I might be tempted to smack him. LOL!
