And not Lyle Alzado?
To: Mr. Mulliner
Of course..... Lyle Alzado. I don't know why his name escaped me, but it did.
He was fighting cancer at the same time my son was fighting leukemia, so he was John's big hero (forget about the steroids, he's fighting cancer, man).
For all of his heroics on the football field, as I remember, he led a tragic life.
I have to confess to you, though, that my favorite football quarterback (until I found the Raiders) was Y.A.Tittle of the accursed 49rs!

It's time for me to call it a night.
God bless us all. Each, and every one.

We're home ..... mission accomplished. M-i-l agreed to see a neurosurgeon and we didn't even have to break both arms to get her concession. She also decided that if she's going to have surgery, she wants to have it done in the Chapel Hill area rather than in Wilmington ...... more kinfolk there, though no one else that she knows.
Now there are several other issues to be dealt with. Right now she cannot be left alone at all ..... yet sister-in-law cannot stay home with her ..... must return to work tomorrow. Hopefully a granddaughter will be able to help out at least until other arrangements can be made. All options must be checked out and quickly. We're all in uncharted territory and don't even know which way to turn. We have no idea how long it will be before a doctor's appointment can be arranged and surgery scheduled. Life will be quite complicated for a while for all of us.
Mom fell yesterday but, miraculously, didn't hurt anything ..... is hardly even sore today. But now there's even more concern about her falling again. And the pain medication is not helping as much as before. We'll just take one day at a time ..... and let the Lord handle things.

Yes, one day at a time, leaning on the Lord ... that's the best way and about all you can do anyway.
Love you, sweetie. Thanks for a lovely breakfast and start to the day.

Oh my Kay, I am sure God will work all of this out for your family. But in the mean time I'll be praying for your m-i-l's situation and your mom also.
Thanks for a great start this morning.

High 50's's and going to get in the 70's today. Storms tomorrow.
To: gulfcoast6
Highs in the 60's here in TN today !!!!
To: kassie
I meant to tell you, we went to Lowes and Home depot yesterday, wore shorts and short sleeve shirt, couldn't ask for better weather. What bothers me are the stroms, they can get real nasty with the cold front hit the warm fronts and 'hatch' some tornados.
To: gulfcoast6; raven
SHORTS?? In late Dec.?? You are right, the down side of nice weather, the cold air has to hit the warm air sooner or later.
It was nice yesterday, but very, very windy in VB. Suppose to get up to 55 today.

Down here on ther coast you see a lot of folks wearing shorts all year, even when it is 'cold', a different meaning from what you get up there, cold to us is in the high 40's and 50's.
To: gulfcoast6
Yes, sir, funny how each region is. My m-i-l in Phoenix is freezing to death. It got down to 50. She had to turn her furnace on, it was so cold !! Our home is south TX and we were the same way. Our blood has thickened living a little farther north now.
