It's in Philly though, right?

Nope. It's in NY and the Giants have much more to play for than the Eagles do, homefield advantage thru the playoffs or not. The Eagles are in, the Giants are on the out looking in, and there's the catalyst to play like there's no tomorrow.

In fact, the Eagles are 0-2 against AFC playoff teams.

Rub it in...

But remember those losses happened before our 5-0 run began..

This Giants game will be the test.....they always play us tough.

Dog,
You should have very few complaints..... A NY team takes you out of home field advantage, and a NY team puts you into home field advanage in only two days time....

Sorry Mozie....

Obviously not all playoff teams actually play like playoff teams all the time. The Titans looked anemic today for most of the game and had some key breaks, but when it really counted they looked pretty good and won 13-3. They are now 10-1 in their last 11 games. That bodes well for their chances in the playoffs, I think.

I'm not watching the game, but if a team has this much riding on the game and is getting whipped 35-10, they just don't look like a team that is really trying to win it all.

If the Pack wins, they're the #1 seed. But if they lose, can't they slip back into #3 and have to play in the first round? That's huge.

How about those Raiders!!!!!

I take it you're a Raiders fan. I was a Raiders fan since Super Bowl #2 in January 1968. I used to have their posters on my wall and practically bled silver and black. All my friends hated the Raiders and I never waivered.

Somewhere along the line I kind of lost interest in the Raiders, I guess because they pretty much stunk for a while and I was occupied elsewhere. But I still like the Raiders better than any other team except for my newly adopted Titans. If the Titans can't get past the Raiders in the playoffs, I'll be in silver and black.

You were saying the Eagles get no respect? Here's what ESPN has to say in their Power Rankings:
One week left in the season and the Eagles have officially become the most successful Power Rankings team of the season. Philly's reign on top is now four weeks, passing the Patriots three-week stint on top earlier in the year.

You'll never know what its like being surrounded by 49rs fans! UGH! I was never so glad to leave anywhere as I was to retire from my job ~~ everyone there was a 49rs fan and you just had to live with it. I've been a Raiders fan forever and plan to continue being one regardless.

Speaking of things hanging on the walls, my son had countless little Raider things and I still have a Super Bowl XV pennant hanging next to my 'puter.

Daryl Lamonica was my first football hero. I remember trading for his football card and any other Raiders I could find. George Blanda was another one. And, of course, Snake Stabler was one of the most exciting 4th quarter quarterbacks in the game.

Who were your favorites?

Lamonica and Blanda were great, as was Stabler. My old age has set in and I can't remember the name of my favorite quarterback - He took them to the Super Bowl just before they moved to Los Angeles - Jim something.

Somewhere here I have an autographed football card by one of John's heros and I can't remember his name either ~~ but you'll know it when I tell you that he died of cancer a few years ago. He testified that he had taken steroids and that the cancer was from the steroids.

Jim Plunkett is the QB you're trying to think of. I think he was a Heisman trophy winner from Stanford in college.

Was the other guy John Matuzak?

Or maybe it was Lyle Alzado? Seems like he might have been the one who had the serious steroid problem.

Right ~~ Plunkett. I loved that guy!

No, not John Matuzak. This guy looked almost like one of the WWF guys, big, brawny, bald. I think he was a back, but I don't remember for sure. I'll have to think hard to see if I can remember his name - or look for his signed card and then I'll know.
