AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 698) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 19, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/19/2002 4:23:04 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

December 19, 1998 - A GREAT DAY TO HAVE BEEN A REPUBLICAN!!

On that day, the GOP House ensured that Wilhelm von der Schlickmeister Blythe Klintoon would have his proper place in history by making him the first elected President ever to have been impeached and, collaterally, causing Vice Perpetrator Algore to remark that Klintoon would be remembered as "one of our greatest Presidents."

The Pravda is reporting the Administration has set an informal target of the last week in January to decide on whether to invade Iraq. The White House believes by then it will have gathered enough evidence on Iraqi malfeasence in the WMD arena to convince the UN Security Council Iraq must be dealt with once and for all.

In that regard, US intelligence has stated the Iraqi regime has created a larger and more powerful biological warfare capability, has weaponized their agents to such a degree they are highly aerosoled, and have put their labs in vans, so they will not be found by UN weapons inspectors.

And UOx42 has weighed in on Senator Lott:

"How do they think they got a majority in the South anyway?" Clinton told CNN outside a business luncheon he was attending. "I think what they are really upset about is that he made public their strategy."

He added: "They try to suppress black voting, they ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina, and from top to bottom the Republicans supported it." [Sourced to CNN]

Maybe the GOP should remind the former cretin of the White House there are many witnesses to him using the "N" word frequently while he was governor of Arkansas: Why Clinton Is MIA on the Lott Race Flap.

Meanwhile, Delighted Democrats Sharpen Anti-white Agenda

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

If, in fact, the Conference suspended the rules in order to elect Lott Majority Leader earlier than specified in the Rules, he is in like sin.

Maybe. But the question is this - does a suspension of the rules in the 107th affect business that is supposed to tranact under the 108th? That's what I find interesting.

I saw a story on CNN a couple of days ago about Byrd's remarks and his membership in the KKK. The newsreader said something along the lines that Byrd had been a member of the KKK "clear back in 1957", but had apologized since, and moved on. And then the newsreader moved onto the next story. I will say though, the furor seems to be dying down a bit, the Lott story no longer is the lead-in story for the cable channels.

Well, yippee skippy, I finally have some work to do. I came in at 6:30 am this morning because I have two pieces of code to work on, and I was assured one would be ready at that time. Gee, what a surprise, it was not. I just received an email that the other piece of code is ready to test from another group (I have to do some install testing.) It's either feast or famine around here...

I just checked Mapquest ...... looks like the tornado was well inland (due east of Jackson), not near the coast. But there's some pretty ugly weather on down into the Gulf. gc may not be able to get on the computer for a while.

Prayers for all those affected by this weather system and especially the tornado!

According to deport's post of quotes from Santorum, I am in agreement with deport. Assuming Unanimous Concent is necessary to reconsider the previous vote, one objection could stall further action.

However, there is always a way to overcome these procedural problems.

If an objection is voiced to Unamimous Concent the following could occur.

A motion to Suspend the Rules to Consider the question.

A motion to suspend the rules requires 50% + 1 for passage.

If you could get the 50% +1 to suspend the rules,, then a motion would be made to Reconsider the election of Majority Leader. The Motion to Reconsider must be made by someone who voted with the majority in the previous vote.

The person who origionally moved to elect the Majority Leader may place a Motion to Reconsider on top of the one placed by any another member and thus has control of the action. (this is another stall tactic)

If the Motion to Reconsider passes by 50% + 1, then someone stands up and nominates someone other than the existing Leader.

I don't think there is any limit as to how many people can be nominated. Since the Senate Rules are silent on this matter, I believe it could be "Katy Bar the Door".

Quite Frankly folks, while I find this discussion of Senate Rules and Parlimentary Rules facinating, I think we'd all better step back and Reconsider ourselves.

I predict Lott is going to hold his position. What possible good can we accomplish, as Conservatives, by trashing the quasi Leader of the Conservatives in the Senate.

I understand Lott is not a Conservative, but he's better than Dashole. I understand that Lott doesn't actually lead the Conservative wing of the party. But like it or not, he's the leader, I think he'll remain the leader. I'm going to start trying to accept it. It's going to be a difficult task.

Well, your first mistake was to trust developers to keep their word on anything. Don't you know that promises and deadlines are only agreed to just to get you people to go away??? Sheesh!!!

And your second mistake is forgetting that the entire system is set up to make your life miserable. Which is as it should be, in the prima donna's eyes ;-)

Not that it's right or anything....(I hope you get the job, btw)

"We have been checking all the [Senate Republican] rules," Mr. Santorum said.

Somewhere in the Senate Rules,,, probably at the end,,, there will be a statement saying any situations which cannot be addressed by the Senate Rules shall be governed by _ _ _ _ _ _. (I don't know what the final authority is,, but in State Legislatures it is generally Mason's Manual of Legislative Procedure,,,, that is where I pulled all the maneuvering I previously posted)

If someone can figure out WHAT the final authority is,, you can determine what the outcome will be if you can figure out how many votes Lott has.

LOL! So true. I have to leave at 5:00 sharp this evening though, it just makes me uptight to have the code come this late. Thanks for the thoughts on the job. We'll see what happens. I should know tomorrow night, I hope.

Good comments. My senators have come out in favor of Lott retaining his leadership position. It is going to be interesting to see the Dems demagogue him if he remains...

Know what the difference is between an Inexperienced Development Manager and an Experienced Development Manager?

Having been burned so often, the Experienced Development Manager knows when he or she is being lied to.
