AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 698) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 19, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 12/19/2002 4:23:04 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

December 19, 1998 - A GREAT DAY TO HAVE BEEN A REPUBLICAN!!

On that day, the GOP House ensured that Wilhelm von der Schlickmeister Blythe Klintoon would have his proper place in history by making him the first elected President ever to have been impeached and, collaterally, causing Vice Perpetrator Algore to remark that Klintoon would be remembered as "one of our greatest Presidents."

The Pravda is reporting the Administration has set an informal target of the last week in January to decide on whether to invade Iraq. The White House believes by then it will have gathered enough evidence on Iraqi malfeasence in the WMD arena to convince the UN Security Council Iraq must be dealt with once and for all.

In that regard, US intelligence has stated the Iraqi regime has created a larger and more powerful biological warfare capability, has weaponized their agents to such a degree they are highly aerosoled, and have put their labs in vans, so they will not be found by UN weapons inspectors.

And UOx42 has weighed in on Senator Lott:

"How do they think they got a majority in the South anyway?" Clinton told CNN outside a business luncheon he was attending. "I think what they are really upset about is that he made public their strategy."

He added: "They try to suppress black voting, they ran on the Confederate flag in Georgia and South Carolina, and from top to bottom the Republicans supported it." [Sourced to CNN]

Maybe the GOP should remind the former cretin of the White House there are many witnesses to him using the "N" word frequently while he was governor of Arkansas: Why Clinton Is MIA on the Lott Race Flap.

Meanwhile, Delighted Democrats Sharpen Anti-white Agenda

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Now, from what I've read on FR, this vote is held behind closed doors. Does it become common knowledge how each Senator votes for the leadership position? Should it?

It is quite typical, after a contested inside election of this type, for someone (usually the person who nominated the challenger) to arise and seek the floor. Once they have the floor they 'move to dispense the previous ballot and cast a unamimous ballot for the winner'.

This action give the appearance of unity, even if there is some blood on the floor and give the effect of everyone in the Conference voting for the top vote getter.

Sorry folks, I'm getting wires crossed again. From my #53, the "Chairman" of the Conference Committee is distinct from the "Floor Leader."

Lott is "Floor Leader." The position is also called "Republican Leader."

Santorum is "Conference Chairman."

K.B. Hutchinson is "Vice Chairman." (That's "Chairperson" to the idiots across the isle)

This means that the "Chairman" can call Conferences, not the "Floor Leader." Shall we ask the Hon. Santorum about all this?

Thanks!
Since there appears to be no mention of WHEN Leadership votes CANNOT be taken, the November Leadership election wasn't in violation of Conference Rules.

I keep trying to get finished getting ready for Christmas, but my mother keeps coming up with projects for me. I have a bit of cooking and baking left to do, I will finish that up on Monday. I must wrap gifts too, I can get that done. My mom just called and wants me to make Christmas stockings for her front living room. She even has the velvet! All I have to do is cut them out and sew them. LOL. And I must finish making a custom music CD for my dad.

I did find a couple of bargains last night though. We went to a $2 fabric store last night before the concert. I found some tablecloth fabric that has snowflakes, and snowmen on it, with a snowman village border on one side. Way cute, only $1.25 a yard. Good quality fabric too. I bought the whole bolt (7 yards.) I am going to make my sister a tablecloth (she's the snowman queen). All I have to do is hem the edges. And I'll make myself a tablecloth or two out of it, but after Christmas. I'm also waiting for the stores to start marking their deep discounts on Christmas ornaments. I've got my eye on some snowman round ornaments, but I'm not willing to pay what they want, even at 50% off. I'm waiting for the 75% off sales...

Have fun nuking lunch. Your comments made me remember my maternal grandmother. She cooked lunch daily for my uncle and cousin (they work in the family-owned glass shop next to her home.) And it was a hot lunch (meat, potatoes, salad, rolls, and a dessert.) She made lunch for them right up until six months before she died last year at age 96. Even when she was so sick in bed, and my mom was taking care of her, my grandma would say "Have the boys had lunch yet?" And my mom would answer "yes, they've gone to Burger King."

Fox News has a news alert up....it seems the Iraqi VP says "that a country may use all means necessary to defend itself..."

They don't want to go in that direction.

Wow, it is starting to heat up. There have been articles here in Utah this week about the Utah National Guard and Reserves being activated again. Utah has the highest rate of active reserves in the nation. I have several friends who will probably be activated.

Here is a copy and pasted description of the Conference Officers: The Chairman of the Conference shall preside at all Conference meetings and perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by the Conference.

The Vice Chairman shall keep accurate minutes of all Conference proceedings. The minutes of the Conference and of all meetings of committees of the Conference shall be kept by the Vice Chairman for the Minority or Majority, as the case may be, which minutes shall be open to inspection by any member of the Conference. The Vice Chairman or the Vice Chairman for the Minority or Majority, as the case may be, shall notify members of all Conference and Committee meetings. In the absence of the Chairman, the Vice Chairman shall have the same powers and duties to call meetings of the Conference as the Chairman.

The Floor Leader shall perform the customary duties of the Majority or Minority Leader, as the case may be, on the floor of the Senate and shall have full authority to deal with all questions of procedure after consulting the Republican Senators who are concerned.

The Assistant Floor Leader shall assist in securing attendance of members at Party Conferences and upon the floor of the Senate when their presence is considered necessary by the Chairman or the Floor Leader and shall perform such other duties as the Chairman or Floor Leader may require.

The Policy Committee shall consider the legislative program in the Senate and the question whether any Party policy is involved, shall prepare and present recommendations for action by the Conference, and shall advise all Senators on legislative matters which they desire to present to the Policy Committee.

It is not clear to me, from reading this document, as to whether the Majority Leader and the Floor Leader are one in the same. It could very well be that, due to the heavy work load, a Floor Leader literally orchastrates the floor action while the Majority Leader wheels and deals in his office.

Can you shed any light on my confusion?

they've gone to Burger King.

No disrespect intended,,,, but sending them to Burger King may have been the last straw for your Grandmother. No self respecting Granny would allow her tribe to eat in town.

Having said this,,,, you need to know I have absolutely no respect for myself, I often leave a note and tell them to go to town to eat (no Burger King there,,,, population 900). There a c/store with sandwiches in saran wrap, pizza boats, and some other stuff that looks like it was made by Fisher Price for use in the little plastic resturant.

Iraq also made a call for all moslems to kill US servicemen where ever they are.

They might find that backfiring on them.

My grandma did make a little protest "you can't send them to Burger King!", but my mom told her that she was there to take care of my grandma, not to make lunch for the "boys". My grandmother grew up on a farm too, she started cooking for the men in the fields at age 10. Her rolls and pies, well all of her cooking, was to die for. She'd go through a 25 pound bag of flour a week, she'd make pies and rolls for the gangs hanging around her neighborhood. They always seemed to look out for her, she never had any problems with them.

I am pinging deport to this thread because he specifically wanted this information.

deport, be sure you check all the links. I believe there was some discussion on yesterday's thread as well, but this should give you most of what you are looking for.

We are still not certain if it requires a unanimous vote to call for a new election, but it is quite obvious that the meeting can be called by 5 members.
