Well, it's December 17, 2002. That means Spring is right around the corner. Sort of.
< birdtweets&flutemusic>Ah, Spring -- when a young man's/woman's thoughts turn to < /birdtweets&flutemusic> ... MOTOR CYCLES! <|:)~
This is an attempt to cobble together a definitive ping list of FReeper motorcycle riders/enthusiasts of & for all brands. Who knows? Maybe someday we'll get it together enough to all meet in Fresno or somewhere.
If you're already on the list, I must've come across your name on another biker thread.
If you know of someone who may not yet be on the list, but who would want to be, please let me (and them) know!
And if a more recent or complete FMH Ping List has been done already, let me know as well.

1. Where are the headlights
2. I do NOT want to know where the exhaust pipe goes. I bet the guy with the Bison-dressed ride is a big hit at Sturgis.
But if we include him in the bunch, we should really also invite the lads from the National Park Nepal team of the 21st World Elephant Polo championship meet. Good showing, lads!

Another thread made mention of a FMH patch -- has one been done yet? I think something along those lines was under consideration with the FR contingent making the *Rolling Thunder II/Run to the Wall* over the Memorial Day weekend.
You might ask John Huang 2. He was one that was there.... Fred Mertz and I kicked around the idea of a Free Republic Guidon, too....

Time has cooled my passion, but I still take out the old "rice burner" occasionally.
Keep me posted, you wild-eyed hooligans!

That'n has a ZZ4 502 Cubic Inch GM *Crate* engine in it. But next to Hub Gelbke's original V-8 piowered *Roaddog* of the late 1960s, it's such a little thing....

I wanna stay on the list--1983 Honda CB1000 sitting under my front porch and under a cover with a 'french-fry light' under the crankcase on a snowy New Mexico night. There is no such thing as 'too cold to ride'.
It really works well--a 250 watt heatlamp in a shop-light clamped to a rock to keep it pointing up under the crankcase. Starts instantly with a half-choke on even below freezing mornings!

Well, you know there is a photo rule in effect. Well, then, I'll have to hurry right over, to get there before it rains.

I'm thinkin' maybe a 5 degree rake. <|:)~

That's Hubbie. He built a couple dozen slightly milder versions, but Buzz Walneck of the Cycle Trader had the original *Roaddog* last [up for sale, last I'd heard]

You were on the Run for the Wall 2001?
Were you on the stop at Window Rock AZ at the Navajo Nation?
To: Tijeras_Slim

I have this one exactly, the 2002 Connie in 'Silverdammit'. I love it- ride to work almost every day.
I am in the San Francisco East Bay area.

You were on the Run for the Wall 2001? Yep.
Were you on the stop at Window Rock AZ at the Navajo Nation?
Nope. I'm in Memphis, hooked up at the KOA campground at Sweetwater, TN, so I only made about half of the coast-to-coast trip, about five riding days for me.

So I'm on the "Escort the vietnam moving wall" run in Avon Park going to Sebring (back in Nov) and there is a guy with a boss hoss ridin' next to me on the run. So we gets to Sebring Raceway and The Wall gets parked and so do we. He brakes out a bottle of Chivas from his coat pocket and a 6-pack of half frozen dansani water bottles.
Now we're friends. :-)
So I ask him how much those boss hoss's weigh. He said just over 950lbs.
Now my E-glide scales in at 820lbs without me on it and the book says 760lbs (60lbs of chrome??). Now I'm not sold on that weight but he tells me they use all aluminum engines. Block, heads, manifolds, etc.
How close was he to the truth?
To: JoeSixPack1
How close was he to the truth? According to their site, its dry weight is 1300 lbs.
I pity th' fool who lays it down & has to pick it up! <|:)~
