Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Note to self: "don't get on these ladies' bad side..."
Went to an awesome concert in DC last nite... The Luther College Nordic Choir gave an awesome performance... I was weeping at the beauty...
From the first note I was entranced
Waves of ambrosial melody washed over me
They say music gives comfort because it touches us
moves us
The sound waves move over our bodies,
stirring the physical senses
vibrates the hairs in our ear,
which are translated to sound
For those blessed with the ear and heart to hear
To listen, to fully comprehend the majesty
Music is an unction
Which can ease the anguish of a wounded heart
It is my manna in the desert
Sustaining my flesh without substance
I can hide in the folds of a song
Pulling the warm blanket of chorus over my head
Creating a warm solace
I would be empty, lost without it

The weather lady is a hoot and the anchor was hyped up on something. Our traffic guy is annoying and the anchors are those look-down-their-nose liberal types but they do have cute pet pictures in the morning.

This is our weather lady:

Bless her, she's so bubbly it's almost unbearable!
She's better than the last one...she stayed pregnant the entire time she worked there...and wore the most unbeliebably revealing (even normally) outfits! Worse than Demi Moore!

I like it! Very soothing words...relates the soothing feel of the music.
Really, though...I don't understand. Isn't it the goofy liberal hippies that always sit around in beer joints banging on bongos recited poetry to a BEAT???
Dale is just one big old acid flashback gone horribly wrong.

And on top of all that...he's a psychologist. Hmmmmm.....you seem to have a lot of run-ins with psychologists.
To: 2Jedismom
you mean beatnicks? I dunno 2JM... libs haven't got a monopoly on art, but they sure are the most outrageous...

I know! I wish I had never found out about it. I woke up this morning with it going through my head.

Beautiful, g'nad! I can identify. Ain't music grand? (OK, so my version wasn't so poetic...)
Wind chill of -23 out there now, and supposed to be really cold again tonight. Is it almost spring yet???

LOL!! It's true! You know, I had to take intro to psych to graduate from nursing school...took me three tries! I kept getting in arguments with the instructors. Naturally, I made them look like fools and they failed me. Finally, I managed to sit through the class with my mouth shut and get a C.

I'm on my third cup of coffee and it's not even 7:30am here!
It's 24 degrees outside.

I wish I had never found out about it. I woke up this morning with it going through my head.We tried to warn her, but...
Good morning!
To: RosieCotton
I went to bed very early, which must explain my being up at the crack of dawn. Steve got in at 10pm and I cooked him some steak and eggs (and sat down for a second supper with him...no kidding!) Then we went to bed, so it was relatively early.

Ain't music grand? yup! Luther College is recognized as one of the best music schools in the country... I didn't know that when I was in High School.. they tried to recruit me, but I chose the Corps instead... now I'm kinda wishing I'd followed music... to create beauty and joy for others...

I sometimes wish I was doing something more music related...but I don't have the guts to drop everything and change fields. Plus there's the worry that it would lose its appeal. Now, I can play music / sing or not. It's not the way I pay the bills. If it became a job, I'm afraid it would lose something. So for the most part, I'm happy with things as they are!
I'm still doing music related stuff at least four nights a week...

My friend that I mention now and then that I go see his band...he works from his home during the day and then does these gigs in the evening. There are four of them and they get paid $200 an HOUR to play (and worth every penny...it's irish trad and a workout for them.)
They have cut a CD and are having a party this Friday to release it. I'm going and taking my mom and we're going to buy the CD and enjoy the party!

Good morning. For me, I think, poetry works like music does to others. There's not much more soothing to my soul than a good word work.
And you, my friend, are a prince at that!
