Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Won't someone have a guitar?Do you have the music for 'guitar' to go along with some of those whistle tunes? I could see if Sir SuziQ could bring his Martin guitar, if we drive. If we fly, maybe we could bring his old one. I don't think he wants the baggage folks at the airlines to have a go at his Martin!
I have an old 12 string I got for my high school graduation, ack, 32 years ago!! I haven't played in YEARS, but maybe I'll get back into it this year.

I've prepared two pots of hearty beef and vegetable stew to drive the chill from my dear Hole dwellers' bonesWoo Hoo that will hit the spot just about now. It is 13 degrees with a wind chill of about -7!! It is most definitely a Stew day!! Thanks for thinking of us!

Well, even if someone could just manage chords, I think it would sound great. Rosie, definitely don't forget a recording device!

I can bring my guitar, if nothing else! It's a very nice one, but I'm OK with traveling with it as back in the good ol' days before I had a house (i.e. when I had money!) I bought a super duper travel case for it. It's heavy, but very protective!

Here's a few good tunes... I especially like The South Wind and Hector the Hero...

This is Hector the Hero.

And as for the recording device, I can probably borrow my brother's minidisc recorder, if we don't come up with something else by then.

Well, it was delivered at 10:52 and I don't have it, so I am going to assume it is at the store.
BRB!

I was in Pensacola attending a seminary module. I got to spend the week listening to lectures and taking tests on Apologetics. Now I get to write a 15 page paper on the subject.

Recognize some of those tunes. We do Cooley's Reel, Southwind, Lord Inchiquin, and are starting Inisheer. I've heard Hector the Hero is good. I'll have to give it a listen at home - no sound here, for now!
To: HairOfTheDog
I just saw that too! I was looking at my records to get your phone number and call you to tell you to check the store! LOL!!!

Was it fed-exed? Sometimes when I get a fed ex package, they'll say it's delivered to my porch and it won't be there for another hour or so!
I don't see the point in having a tracking number if they don't even bother telling you the truth.
To: 2Jedismom
UPS 2nd Day Air Delivery. I've been tracking it all weekend and every hour or so today! LOL!!

The thing that gets me is they say they left the package on the porch...I'll look out the door (where I suppose I should have a porch but don't) and there certainly will not be a package out there! Then here he comes in his shorts...carrying my package an hour or so later.
I can't remember if it's fed ex or UPS...maybe it is ups.

Sometimes when I get a fed ex package, they'll say it's delivered to my porch and it won't be there for another hour or so! Last year I had to have some tickets from Expedia.com Fed-ex'd to my mom. I kept checking and checking and they said they were delivered on a certain date.
It finally dawned on me to ask my Mom to check her "other" front door. When they built the addition, they added another door which they now use as the front. The other door is never opened.
She did check, and found the tickets, along with about 8 months worth of assorted mail that was too big for the mailbox...

To: RMDupree
He was at the store!
Delivery guys never find me....
He is so adorable!
Now that I can picture him, I am going to put him among my houseplants. I have two big floor-size plants, a palm and a big bushy thing that he is standing under.... peeering out!
The quality of the photo and the cutout is really good. I am so tickled!

No telling what kind of dreams you'll have now. :)
