Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

At your service!
All of the wimmin look stunning in the calendar, IMHO.
To: Scott from the Left Coast
Yeah, she is in shape, I believe. Watching her move in TTT was interesting.
To: Sam Cree
Strange since I am partial to the elven lasses...but Eowyn is the most interesting of those photos on that calendar for sure. And she promises to be the most interesting female lead in the next movie (from that photo anyway!)

Hair: absolutely an artist goof, our Woodland friend wouldn't do that :-). But of course, he is an elf soooo... anyway the illustrator did good job otherwise.
I thoroughly enjoy your comments regarding the steeds and the links to other horse articles, the one on the NZ training was well done; When I saw the riders making a surround of our feckless trio, I wondered if it was a drill team or computer enhanced.
And yes, Hair, as Legolas said to Gimli "But even as Aragorn they are courteous, if they break their silence."
To: osagebowman
I have to smirk when Eomer turns that herd around and they all come galloping back... I can here Aragorn saying, "Boy I hope that was a good idea!" - What news of the Mark? indeed!
And I will certainly let you know if I see anyone holding the reins wrong! ;~D
Viggo is a good rider! His horse appreciates that and it shows. The horse Brego is a Grand Prix level dressage horse and that shows. He has high standards where riders are concerned.

Speaking of horses...
I am going to go see if my two can remember that they still have jobs! Never to early to start getting Bay back in shape for Spring. And doing just about anything with that pony would do her some good!
See y'all in a bit!
To: HairOfTheDog
Well, we do realize we're in mixed company, and it sounds so much harsher when men do it.

Just popping in to let you all know that I'm still alive!
My new job is keeping me incredibly busy, so I haven't had very much time for visiting all my wonderful and esteemed friends of the Hobbit Hole...for that I apologize. Rest assured, despite my absence, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
Please keep me on your ping lists for all the goodies and tasty tidbits of information...especially you, RMD...I'm not getting my breakfast any other way! lol
I simply adore the RotK images! I'm dreading the horrible wait that is in store for all of us...December can't come any quicker, from where I sit.

Hi, IOTN, nice to hear from you.
To: Sam Cree; All
Hi Sam, and everyone
I haven't been on the computer as much as I usually am the last couple of days... I've been in a mood to listen rather than talk, so I've just been lurking. But I'm getting over it, so I expect I'll be back and posting as usual now.
No need to worry! ;)

(Didn't have much to say to all those beefcake pics anyway)
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Hi, Bear, thanks for stopping by, I was worried a little. Yeah, I didn't have much to say about those pictures either.
Sure the ladies are right that the characters are admirable, they represent folks that believe in integrity, honesty, sacrifice, free will, honor, etc. + they are pretty cool. 'Course there are some very cute females in the movie, too.
Sometimes I don't have much to say either, though FR seems to be curing me of that.
It is really cold here, gonna light another fire in a little bit.

Where'd you put the beer in the gameroom?

I am pleased that you are still alive of course!
I got both equines workin' a little! - Bay even had an adorable little temper tantrum. He hasn't been worked since Fall! But at 20, if he can still snort and buck a little, more power to him! I was not backside, I was just lunging him from the middle. If I stay on track, he should now be worked a few times a week to be strong by spring.
As for the pony, what a sweet little animal she was today. I haven't worked her since fall either, and she lunged and drove like a little trooper.

Where'd you put the beer in the gameroom?Heh, wasn't me... I was up wandering on the North Downs...
Have you checked the mini-fridge?

'Course there are some very cute females in the movie, tooI would "fight back" by posting cheesecake pics, but although I agree the ladies of FOTR are pretty, none of them really, uhm, fire my imagination, so to speak. And there are only three of them to choose from.
Has been cold here in Texas as well, down into the 20s the last two nights. But, it's supposed to be warming up over the next few days.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I thought one of the ones missing some teeth was pretty OK, at Bilbo's party...
