Sam, my problem is I was born of parents in a heavy ranching area and all we got was beef (or anything wild or hunted - venison, javalina, wild turkeys and fish.) By the time anybody tried to feed me chicken I just really didn't care much for it. I eat it when somebody gives it to me because that's the polite thing to do. But, it just doesn't taste much like food.

Well, I can really only speak for my family and what I see as reactions on the spanish speaking news stations. For the most part, Cubans are die-hard Republicans (made even more so after the Elian debacle).
It's safe to say that about 90%+ of the exiles are in favor of war, with the other 10% being a little more cautious of retaliation or else resentful that Castro is still around and want him eliminated before anyone else.

Yeah, Ruthy, I've always thought that the exile community, having fled communism, was about as politically conservative as you could get. But reading the Miami Herald, which I regard as a force for the Left, and following other English speaking media, you'd think all that was in the past, and that Cubans are becoming liberals. The fact that baby face Penelas gets elected reinforces that impression.
However, I could hardly believe it was true.
My wife and I were on the road for 9/11, as we drove into Miami the day after, down U.S. 1, it was a sight for sore eyes to see the Cubans in the street waving American flags, even into the night. Very emotional.

Alex Penelas gets re-elected everytime simply because of the Democrat machine. I know very few Cubans that really like Penelas. He'll be gone the next time around.
