Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Journey to the Cross-roads
The Two Towers Edition
Come on! Come in! -if you would like to have some seedcakes and a pint and relax a while. (If it is a special occasion, we still have a few bottles of the old wineyards left!)
Our first thread ( New Zealander builds Hobbit hole ) reached 4,100 posts, and we thought that was big. Our second thread (The New Hobbit Hole ) held us for over 48,000 posts, and we loved it dearly. We talked about moving to a new thread for the last 38,000 posts, but we are really slow to muster! Finally, the time has come. Tomorrow (at 12:01 am, to be precise!) The Two Towers comes out, and we start a new chapter.

Morning! Rainy and foggy here. Had to listen to some raucous music on the way in to brighten up my world.

Good Morning!
It's rainy here too and we're supposed to have a high of 74.
Yes! It has a classic pie fight scene. Tony Curtis walks through this pie fight (pies flying everywhere) and doesn't get hit until the very end.
I fell asleep when they were headed to Alaska, woke up for the pie fight (yay!) and stayed awake until the end of the movie.

Morning, Corin.
It's true, those two songs both make me feel kind of patriotic.
Weather channel claims it's going to hit 88 this afternoon.

Hang in there!
Big'ol went through that retirement nightmare recently. He had this sergeant who was supposed to make all sorts of appointments for him at the various out-processing points. Poor Big'ol would arrive for his appointments only to be told that he wasn't scheduled at all. Add to that each point was horrendously disorganized and didn't seem to know what to do when he did get the appointment straightened out. You'd think he was the first officer in the history of the Army to retire in the DC area. His hope of out-processing "in a couple of days" turned into a multi-week mess.

Good morning! Hey, it's WARM here in VT today! 25 out there now, and it feels wonderful. I hope it lasts...we're supposed to get that darn "wintry mix" stuff this afternoon, though.
Rugerman - welcome to FR! Good to see another musician here. We have quite a band here!
Speaking of which...TWO MORE DAYS until I see Patrick Street! Woo-hoo!!
To: Lil'freeper
Is this for real? I could be wrong, but I don't see how it can be legit. It it was a real company and not someone with a particularly productive, um...bakery...I think he/she could accept credit cards directly and not just payment through PayPal.
PayPal is cool for eBay transactions, but any legit "business" should be able to take payment directly.
I could be wrong.

the whole medical twist is what's goonin' up the system... you'd think the Corps had never medically retired anyone... but that's the least of my problems...
I was workin' a couple of big projects that I thought I had the coffin lid nailed shut on... well... the living dead rose up and were trashin' the place this mornin...

You need more garlic. :)
Good Morning!

"We have quite a band here!"
'Course some of us don't have any musical ability at all.

TTT DVD for sale already??? Oh it's "for real". It just isn't legal. The Academy screeners are out there, and someone is offering copies for sale. One complaint to the studios and he will be shut down.

I'm gettin' ready to run amuck with a shotgun... Oh dear. I would recommend a quieter, classier exit. It won't be easy, but I think it is the right thing to do... you know... for the wife and kids' sake.
When is your last day exactly?
To: HairOfTheDog
When is your last day exactly? good question... I have no idea...

Hi 2J.
I am more worried about the consequences if somehow the military will make a balls up of Iraq. I suppose they will do fine, which ought to do alot for world peace, but, not being on the inside, I can't help but worry some.
I was just talking to Carton on another thread, and she made the point that W is not poll driven, but willing to risk even his presidency doing what has to be done.
Kind of reassuring he is our president during these dangerous times. I am guessing that doing nothing, as the Left and Europe seem to wish, is even more dangerous and risky than taking a bold course, as W is doing.

'Course some of us don't have any musical ability at all. They'll stick us on drums...
