Can't say I have heard of those kinds of walls, gc. When we built our house the plans called for no plywood sheathing..just tuff R..a kind of styrofoamy type rigid board. We decided to use plywood instead.

The only work we contracted out was the basement and plumbing.

Can you believe it? The county would not let hubby do the plumbing, but he could do ALL the electrical. Guess they weren't worried about us electricuting ourselves..just worried hubby would install a faucet upside down and we would drown when we turned it on, LOL

Wish I lived closer..Hubby and I would love to build your house. :-) It would be fun, that is, everything but the drywall...ack!!

Just a brief wave-by. You asked the other day for the CD that had the Mormon Tabernacle Choir performing 'Little Drummer Boy'. Here is the information.

When we were building our family cabin, the only work that was contracted out was the plumbing. My mom was always afraid that my dad or one of my brothers would be electrocuted when they were doing the wiring, but so far, so good.

And now that I have killed the thread dead, I am off for the evening. Don't have too much fun without me. I may not be back online until Friday.
